hello all. This is my first post on this site. And am in dire needs of assistance on what to do. I’m out of options. Just bought a 2019 tundra with 3 miles on it 3 weeks ago. And since the first evening driving it home it has pulled to the right. After 4 trips to the dealership and multiple alignments and balances. I’ve now started a case and filed a claim through Toyota and still the issue has not been resolved. It pulls the the right on all roads whether it be highway. Main roads. Or parking lots. At all speeds. My 2011 Texas edition had 100k miles and never once had any issues. I feel like I’ve made the biggest mistake of my life and got rid of my perfect truck for this garbage”lemon”.

Sorry to hear. Sounds like you need to find a better alignment shop to validate the dealer. Toyota’s alignment specs don’t consistent result from dealers

Even if it’s a Toyota dealership that specializes in toyotacare and maintenance?

Ok. Calling it a Lemmon is a bit strong. Go get a good alignment.

It’s a dealership lift. 3inch trd This is the only photo I’ve taken since I’ve gotten it. But after multiple trips to the dealership. I’m always just at a point where I’m angry at the truck. And I know lemon is a strong word to use. But I’ve been a tundra owner for years and Will always hold number spot when it comes to vehicles. I’m just bamboozled by the fact that it is brand new and this kind of issue

Firstly that's a steep hill, secondly it sounds like who ever did the lift did a sloppy job. Try and find out where the lift was done and speak with them???

    Simple things.

Have you, the OP, checked the tire pressures (in particular the right front) yourself and verified their pressures?

Have you, the OP, swapped the right front tire for either the left front? Or the right rear? Swapped in the spare?

And "YES" you need to take it to an independent shop for a an alignment check and read out. Do not tell them you're in a pissing match with a dealer. Tell them that you want it checked. The specs printed out. And the shop manager to discuss the results of their findings.

The dealership may not have done the lift, many have those done by off road shop and still sell like it was dealer installed.

It’s a great looking tundra and get so many compliments on it daily. I wanna love it like my last one. But. Until this gets resolved I’m just bothered by it all. Especially when the first payment is made in one week. Then I’ll just go sour

For what it's worth, I had a manufacturing defect in a tire that caused my truck to pull to the right. Did 3 alignments at 2 different shops all with the same result. Swapped to a different set of wheels and tires, the pull was gone. Had all 4 tires replaced under warranty, and the rep I spoke to at Discount Tire said it's rare, but they do see it occasionally.

I’ll check with a different shop this week to see what they’re opinions could be?

Try a different set of tires on it. See if they can swap you out a set to rule out a broken bead on a tire. Had a good year do that years ago. Brand new and it was as if the tire molded to the broken bead during production. Drove like that as soon as we put the new set on.

Just take it back. You get a loaner while they sort it out. Make the service writer drive it while you are in the truck. Any mods were dock mods that are factory approved.

    Not a lemon at all.
If the dealer went to a subcontracted 4wheelparts store down the road who does all their lifts, and Ford’s and Chevy, the techs in the back are just doing what they are told to do. They do not know that the Tundra requires UCA’s at that lift height. So have the dealer tell you who/where the lift was done, send it back to them and make it right. If that is not the fix, then it is the tire itself, which again, came from the same subcontractor that Toyota uses down the street somewhere. Again, make them fix it.

Well when I’ve had four attempts to get it fixed and each time it comes out with a pull to the right. It puts my daughter in harms way. A tundra is suppose to be the perfect truck. This one is not safe So in my eyes. Until it’s resolved I’m angry and it’s a lemon. May not be the exact definition to some. But my frustration is jumping to conclusions

I don’t recall. I was so ecstatic about a new truck and came in with no thoughts to ever thinking. What could be wrong with a new tundra.

Dont see how the alignment issue is going to put you and your family in harm's way but ok.......just need to get it done by a shop that knows about lifted trucks not a dealer where they will go by toyota specs and your truck cant no longer be aligned by the toyota specs since it is lifted need to the dealer to sublet the truck to a proper alignment shop and maybe have to install UCA

I honestly don’t think your truck is a lemon. It sounds more like the dealer did a lemon job lifting your truck. As others have said, they probably hired an off-road shop like 4 wheel parts to do the lift and at 3” you most likely need aftermarket upper control arms to set everything right. Stock arms are likely going to pull with 3” of lift so thats probably what is causing your problem. What kind of lift did they do? Spacers? I would also get a second opinion from a reputable lift shop in your area.

This is amazing. Never trust this dealer for anything. They either don’t know or don’t care that it is impossible for them to align the truck properly with that lift and no UCA upgrade.

    Sorry your dealer sucks

I did a 3/1 on mine and it wandered like a mofo til I got UCAs. My guess is the caster is out of spec and they just cant get any more caster. Did they provide a printout each time they aligned it??? Wheels and tires could be suspect too.
