Just curious if these tails are still slated to happen? Haven’t seen any updates.

Wouldn’t count on it. They’ve been all over the place with poor communication. Many have gone with the HREV tails which are nice and about half the price of typical Morimoto pricing.

Morimoto has been saying yes and no, depends on who answers the email. There has been a set made that are identical to the Tacoma version. Anyway, the newest hot product is the HotTails tail conversion using Vleds bulbs from Hotshot Offroad. @memario1214 will hook you up with a set.

I like the black housing of the Morimoto tails a little better since there appears to be much more black/smoke color while still providing the clear lens-a little concerned about my local suburban police giving me a hard time for a smoked lens which is the model I prefer with the HRS tails. Not sure if its worth the $250 difference though.

Well, I just started looking for tail lights for my Lunar Rock Pro and Morimoto releases a video on those the second I start looking. Morimoto tends to be more expensive than most, but aren't they typically of higher quality than cheaper options? I don't mind paying the money as long as the quality is there.

Look at your local laws and their wording. If it's just about brightness you just have to meet those standards. If they say they cannot be smoked, then you might have to shell out.

Yeah unfortunately PA says this....."You cannot insert tinted or smoked taillight covers in Pennsylvania and drive on state roads or highways. As with headlights, you can smoke up your taillights or tint them as you like as long as you do not intend to drive the vehicle on a road." There's a lot of variety whether people end up getting pulled over for them or not, but I'd rather save the hassle and not have to worry about it.

Whole the HREVs are cheaper, they are quality lights. Their customer service is top notch as well and even knows that they make tails for the Tundra. Unlike Morimoto reps who told folks more than once that they have no intention of making tails for the Tundra.

Hey guys! Looks like you found the taillights...
Originally we were planning public release later in the month, but these guys were put up live yesterday. The only version available at this moment is smoked, we are working on getting the red lenses listed as well. We are anticipating shipping for these units to begin 5/5.
$650, plug and play unit, 2 year warranty.

    https://www.headlightrevolution.com...-XB-LED-Tails-Headlight-Revolution?quantity=1

While I do get that most of you have already found taillights for your Tundras, its always nice to know you have more options. Any order placed on Headlight Revolution is eligible to use promo code "BRIGHTWINNER" for a free pair of T10 LEDs (interior, license plates, etc) and a chance to win some cool prizes each month.
Thank you guys for being patient with us for this release, I know you've been talking about it for a few months now.

Since you are here, regarding headlights, can you answer this?....I can't figure it out. Also, what is the reason for swapping the DRL module in step 10 of the instructions?....is that step related to the OEM halogen amber DRL? https://www.tundras.com/threads/morimoto-xb-drl-question.102984/

When are you expecting the red ones?

As disorganized and unaware of its own products Morimoto is, it is nice that they have released this set.

...and I do agree that they could have put more effort into making the design a bit different than the Tacoma tails.

Red ones, as of right now, ETA is 6/30. We are trying to rush that inventory in so it will ship as soon as possible.
