Morimoto Tails... When will Tundras have availability?

Does anyone have an update about 2nd Gen '07-13 Morimoto tails?

 

2nd gen is not in the works at all on the last update from them.

 

Any update on timing @Headlight Revolution ?

 

Over a year later and there still isn't a product

So happy I went a different route.

Most of us have moved over to the total tail light conversion. The XB tails are ugly IMO. They are the exact same design and function as the XB's for the Tacoma.

Just got an update on the Morimoto XB Taillights for the Tundras! Looks like orders are going to start opening up in Late Q1, so Springtime of next year. Here are a few new photos of a set on a Grey Tundra.

 

Not for me. It looks cheap. I don't know, maybe I'm too old. I went with total tail lights. So happy.

 

Variety is the spice of life, just as much as everyone's opinions. There's a reason why we all are looking for an aftermarket option to set us from the rest of the pack. You can most likely count me in when these release!

 

They are the same design and function as the Tacomas. I posted the video several weeks back but it is also on the site.

 

Oh look, another delay with the release

 

Can't rush the design/Tooling process! Better to have a proper functioning/fitting set right off the bat than to rush a product out the door incomplete only to run into issues later! I imagine delays with materials and COVID doesn't help expedite anything either.

 

Very similar design to the Tacoma XB taillights, yes! Just modeled to fit the Tundra.

 

Morimoto should have used two circle design. Shouldn't be same as Tacoma.

 

Holding them in person, I can heavily vouch that there's nothing cheap about them. They feel more solid than OEM does, mainly because OEM is just a hollow taillight with bulb sockets, the XB taillight is all integrated LED. Morimoto's 5YR. warranty & Street Legality alone should vouch for quality! I'm trying to get some misc. aftermarket taillights in so we can do a proper review against competitors so you all can see the differences for yourself.

 

I do like to see different designs for different models, I agree there. I'm just happy to see more aftermarket options coming up!

 

Are they sequential ?

 

Yes, they flip to a Yellow sequential turn signal. You can choose between Sequential or Standard however, if you don't like the animation. There's a connection on the backside you can Unplug or Plug-in to choose between styles on the fly.

Running lights & Brake lights remain Red!

That just made me think of a question. Do you know if the reverse light is an integrated LED or does it allow you to install a separate bulb?

 

Reverse lights are integrated LED, nothing is replaceable in these housings. You'll be good to go right out of the gate!

 

I like these tail lights and like the attention to detail. They added the little "aero" add-ons to the outer lens. Toyota wouldn't have wasted research resources and finances to add these for aerodynamic purposes if they weren't important. I'm down for a set of red ones if this option will be available.

However, I'll have to wait for the next Black Friday sale as I was looking forward to purchasing these when the sale ran a month ago. HR...any chance that you'll run a 25% off on these before November 2022?

 

Fully understand. And I know its not you guys. I only hear great things about HR.
Just poking fun since its been a year and a half and these were promised Q2 of 2021. But doesn't matter to me. I went to Hot Tails and love them. I'm sure many folks will be ordering these Morimoto tails thru yall once they are released.

 

Did someone say... red lens? These look INCREDIBLE.
