I regret the BFG All Terrain KO tires. The price was right but the performance just isn't up to my expectations. There is so many better tires out there.

I seriously regret buying the POS DV8 winch bumper off Ebay that I put on my 07. Pure crapola. I tend to take my time doing anything nowadays. I've had my lift sitting around for almost a year now. Was going to install a couple weekends ago but we now have mandatory OT on Saturdays and has been too freakin hot. I'm off for 5 days. Going camping among other things. Lift can wait a bit longer.

I hear you... I used this forum, search engines and personal experience to limit the chances of my making a mistake, the few mistakes I did make were remedied by returns for full refunds. Some of the questions I post here about certain mods may seem odd, but the end result has saved me money, time & aggravation.

I hear what you are saying, but at the same time you are driving a $40,000 (or whatever yours is worth) truck and saying that people are wasting their money adding a $1,000 mod to make it more like what they want it to be. You could have bought a $10k truck and had more money in the bank.

    Just saying....

No regrets. Most of my mods are either minor practical mods (under seat storage, side steps so wife and kids can get in, driver side handle so I can get in, tonneau cover, etc) and then a few low $ aesthetic mods like stickers to make it my own.
The only 'major' mod is the lift that I probably could have spent a few $ more for something better, but it works for me - no regrets, but a hindsight item that I might have done different if I had to do it again.

I only regret not adhering to the buy once cry once recommendation.
For example I first leveled my truck with Bilstein 5100’s, then installed UCA’s and 2.5” coilovers and finally went long travel.
I should have just done LT from the beginning. So much wasted time and money.

Yikes, I do stuff like that from time to time. One of my first 'mods' to the Tundra was a hole in the front bumper from pulling too far into a parking stall with a light pole in the corner of it

Strictly speaking, a warranty is not a mod. The thread is about mods regretted or not. Stay on topic :smack:

@Boerseun I honestly don’t care what my truck is worth I’m never trading it in, it’s paid off and I have no debt. I’m not giving any bad advice and I never said how people should spend their money. That’s why mine is mostly stock, I guess I’m just happy with what I have and choose to keep my money and invest and save it.

I regret installing retrofit headlights when a guy was selling them on this site. They were expensive, poorly aimed and poorly built. Cost me so much money and time shipping them back and forth for repairs. I happily bought oem leds when they were available.

No remorse, things maybe done differently?
    - lighter wheels and tires (better mpg)
    - paint instead of wrap bumper ends

I kind of wish I had 295/60/20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers instead of 275/60/20's. I have no lift or leveling kit so that larger size may have been a problem.

I almost forgot, putting lower profile TOYO tires on my RCSB turned out to be a bad idea, I sold them after driving almost 5,000 miles and came close to breaking even.

I spent $900 on a bed cover that looks awesome, but really isn't working out overall. I'm replacing it with one that only costs $300. I'm afraid I'm gonna eat quite a bit of that $900 selling the first one.

Dealer installed TRD dual exhaust system and tonneau cover. Personally installed TRD Pro grille and surround, side mirror caps, and TRD shifter.
I regret installing RL leveling kit. Should've installed upgraded coil over shocks instead (plan to fix that), also regret buying 275/70/18s. Should've went with 285/70/18s (will wait until these wear out).
Love all the other mods. I kept my last truck for 13 years and 225K miles, so want to mod this one the way I want it from the start and drive it at least as long.

I didn't know anything about shocks when I started. I went from stock, to 5100's, to 6112's, to Icon 2.5 coilovers. Had I known what I was really looking for and how to achieve that, I would have saved a lot of time and money getting there. "Buy once, cry once" has some truth to it.

I only wish that I would have included more options when I bought it. I am now having to install some of them but they won't be included in my warranty. Specifically I wish I would gotten the tailgate lock and the bumper step from the dealer.

I have no remorse on any of my mods so far but I am definitely taking a different approach with this vehicle. Staying away from the appearance mods and trying to stay focused on functional/useful high quality mods. So far it's been working out well, I love this setup, and for the first time in my life, I have embraced the chrome.

Dude that sucks, had a similar situation in a Walmart marking lot, tried to pull into a lane and some buttmunch felt they needed my half out of the middle. I was already committed so I took it up over the curb. The wife freaked, but the truck took it like a champ. I said to her, “what? It’s a truck! It’s built to do this” ended up giving the lane hog the hairy eyeball and thankful there was no damage to the wheel.
