Maxtrac no cut 6 inch lift

I'm with ya. But unless your off roading I think the CV angles will be ok I haven't had any issues. Yet. Lol

 

Well I'm in Texas and close to the coast, so beach drives is about the only off roading that goes for this Tundra some back roads as well

 

Not only that but CV axels are only as expensive as you want them to be. I replaced my driver side not long ago because we pulled ot out to far. It was our fault not the lift though. I think I spent like 100 bucks on the new one

 

But wheel and tire size also has an effect on this correct?

 

I'm not real sure I do know people say big offset wheels can mess up wheel bearings. not sure about the cv axel.

I vote the struts. Now that your at 6" why go down that's no fun haha

No I'm not. I'm on the older 6" RC lift that was no cutting

 

What size rims and tires are you using in that picture? GREAT stance btw!

 

those are the stock limited wheels, with 1.25'' spidertrax spacers, and the tires are 35x12.5x20 mastercraft mxt's

 

I just pulled the trigger on this lift. Got it ordered now I need to find my patience until it gets here. Lol
Are there any tips or tricks when doing this job?

NICE!!! congrats, should be pretty easy, you'll prob get it all done in like 3-4 hours....... haha i'm kidding, how experienced are you in doing lifts? I did a handful of 2wd tacoma and 4runner lifts, but imo things always take longer than you hope they would, like I thought i could get everything done in a day, but took me about 2.5 work hour days. I couldn't do it with just hand tools, i guess i'm weak.... I had to rent a compressor and an impact to get the lower control arm bolts out, also the instructions recommended a certain size for the axle/hub nut, it wasn't the right size for me, i had to go one standard size up that I borrowed at oreilly's in their hub kit. depending curious what kinda tools and lifts you have access too, I only had floor jacks so it's nice to have pavers or 2x4's available cause it'll be a pain to get down or up high enough

I don't have a lift or air tools. I'm trying to get a buddy who does have air tools to help me.

 

How'd the install go?

 

It is officially in. I should not have attempted it by myself as I am not a mechanic. So once I had the front in and tight I brought it to a shop to finish and align. All and all I am very happy with it. I use 4x4 almost everyday as I cross through a shallow river to get to my house. I still need bigger tires though.

 

I will post up more pics at a later date. I need to take some of the areas everyone is asking about.

 

A few questions for you guys. How do you like it thus far? How much did you pay for installation? And are the blocks and shocks that come with the kit fine?

 

@nammer and @14srAKH how do you like the lift so far if you still have it installed. I'm looking to pull the trigger on this.

 

I like it a lot, no complaints, yea I still have the truck and it’s installed, I don’t really do any off-roading though.

 

We have a 2013 tundra TRD Rock Warrior. After a whole lot of research, we discovered that most standard (readylift, rough country etc..) 4/6” lifts for the Tundra are not compatible with the TRD Pro or the Rock Warrior. The few that are; are way more expensive (around 1k more). Maxtrac turned out to be the only reasonably priced option for those models and no cutting (there is actually a little easy cutting of forward tabs on the front end rear crossmember). I am very pleased with the kit. Very beefed up spindles, new drop crossmembers and front differential mounts that lower the differential to keep your axels at a decent angle, and comes with every little bracket and extension line holders you need.

installation: not a mechanic by trade, but have a decent array of tools and pretty good mechanical skills, so along with decent instructions it wasn’t to bad. Although not horrible, also not super easy just due to basically removing your entire front drive system on an independent front suspension vehicle. Took me two long nights after work to knock it out and was solo most of the time. Admittedly there was multiple occasions of wasted time drinking a beer and staring at it hoping it was going to finish itself. Just due to trying to hold up parts and aligning them, having to crawl out from underneath to get a different tool, etc… another set of able hands is recommended.

special tools: If like most backyard mechanics you don’t already have one, you will need to rent a spring/coil over compressor, the spindle nut is 39mm so my local stores only sold up to 38mm (was able to rent one from auto parts store), although the tabs aren’t sever structural cutting you will want a 4” grinder with a cut off wheel (could not remember who I loaned mine to so managed it with a small dremel, but took way longer).

end result: love the kit, very thorough and all parts were heavy duty and rides no different then it did prior. Running 20”/9 wide rims with +1 offset with 35/12.50 r20s. They stick out just right to look good and not be to ridiculous. You will have to remove mudflaps to prevent rub on extreme turn radius.
