The "news" programs are atrocious, I agree. When I had kids fifteen yrs. ago, I got rid of television. We watch movies though. When crap like this happens we have to a family discussion about it which is a necessary bummer.

I imagine 7.62 and 5.56. I did read where there was .223 ammo found too. I can't imagine him using that from that distance. Definitely had an arsenal. Planned out for sure.

Reports had him on the 32nd floor. Using 15' per floor puts him less than 500' in the air. Assuming the hotel was equivalently far from the concert area (less than 500') then the bullets are only traveling (on a parabolic line) less than 250 yards. Well within the effective range of 5.56/.223.

There is a picture floating around of the shooters face after he offed himself. POS should have offed himself in his house, alone.

The one on the right is .308 for sure , the one on the left is a Daniel Defense 5.56 with a surefire 100 rd mag. If you look to the left near the window there is a pile
Of the 100rd mags. I counted 14 total.

    What a joke HC is....

To show no remorse whatsoever and use this as an opportunity to push her political agenda is just sickening.

I hope karma is really a thing.

I'm not trying to get political and I have no agenda, but I'm just trying to understand everything. I have 3 young kids and my biggest fear is something happening in the schools. If I could have them live in a world where there were absolutely no guns or absolutely no bad people, then I would. But that's not realistic. We live in a world where there are guns and there are bad people.

What I don't understand is why it is so easy for someone to bring all those weapons and ammo into a hotel room without raising any questions. A few years ago, when everyone was so afraid of terrorism (domestic and otherwise), the message was "if something didn't look right, the public was supposed to say something" to help the authorities.

It's crazy that this didn't stand out enough that someone would have questioned this. It's normal to have 20 guns at a range. It shouldn't be normal to have 20 guns in a hotel room.

When you break down your rifles, they fit in your normal suitcase. Unless your bringing attention to yourself, no one is gonna know or care for that matter. You have to remember, he checked in 3-4 days prior to the shooting. A couple bags one day then a couple the next. Not that hard.

    Interesting
"A concertgoer who attended the Route 91 Harvest festival, where the shooting took place, told Sky News that she saw "a lady who pushed her way forward into the concert venue into the first row."

The witness said "she started messing with another lady and told us that we're all going to die tonight,'" before being escorted out by security about 45 minutes before the shooting.

After that, the witness said she left the concert and headed back to her hotel room. When she heard there had been a shooting, the witness "thought it had a positive correlation to" the woman's warning, she said.

It is unclear, however, whether the incident had any relation to the shooting. The witness described the woman and a man she was with as Hispanic and "five-footers."

"They just looked like everyday people," the witness said."

I used to travel a lot and carried a lot of large and very large pelican like waterproof plastic cases of various sizes for my job. I could fill up 2 of those baggage carriers they have in the lobby. I was never stopped or asked what was in the cases. They were all black or gray and could have held anything in them. I don't imagine this guy had a hard time moving lots of equipment into his room even with one trip

You guys are right, it is very easy apparently to get guns into a hotel. I used to watch movies and think "yeah right, how did that guy get a sniper rifle onto the roof of that building without anyone noticing?" Guess Hollywood wasn't exaggerating after all.

In a couple of years, my kids could be attending those outdoor concerts. It's bad enough that you have to worry about drinking and drugs, but also mad men with a stockpile of guns?

"Ex-Marine Who Stole A Truck To Save Vegas Shooting Victims Just Got This Message From The Car Owner

Yesterday, we brought you heroic stories of people selflessly helping others during Sunday night’s horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas. One such story was of 29-year-old ex-marine Taylor Winston, who took an empty truck with keys left inside, and used it to help victims in the most important way.
3 days after the harrowing events, the truck’s owner managed to get in contact with Winston, and has shared the texts they exchanged. Scroll down to find out what he said, and remember that hope can be found even in the wake of unimaginable tragedy.
Ex-marine Taylor Winston found and took an idle truck during the Las Vegas
3 days later, he received this response from the commandeered truck’s owner
In just 2 trips, Winston managed to drive over 2 dozen people to emergency care"

There is no evidence on reputable news sites to say that there were more than one shooter. If there were they will obviously find the shells and we will know when the law makes it available.
