Putting in some tie downs on the bed
    Thanks @joonbug !

    Stupid factory bedliner.
Best way to take it off clean is to score the bolt head around and a few on top of the head.

Use a heat gun to soften it up.
    97942721-76D2-453B-947D-1B545E769102.jpg

then just use some Needle nose pliers to pull off the liner.

Also put on the total chaos bed stiffs.

@dcsleeper408 sucks some techs are just way too lazy to remove the fasteners when they spray the liner. Luckily my factory liner didn’t spray the screws. But they didn’t take off my bed rail so when I remove my bed rail there is mgm paint under it lol. Fail.

Heat gun is a good idea. I'm having trouble getting the bolt out. It starts coming out and then I get a loud popping sound. Should I just keep going? I got scared and screwed it back in.

Yeah, you’ll get a few popping sounds. Don’t worry about it. Oh, and that washer doesn’t separate from the bolt. Might be good to know that has to come out too.

Heat just makes it soft for scoring and prettyness.
You’ll be fine though mine did pop. Just some bed creak, I though the bed might shift bc I took all 4 out the same time..
    You using the T55 right?

When I got my Tundra LineX done in San Jose they said they remove the bed bolts on many trucks, but for whatever reason Tundras occasionally have a bolt that has stripped threads and it won't go back in correctly. I think they said maybe 1 in 10 Tundras has that happen so they like to warn people ahead of time. No difference in cost, but it is obviously easier for them to spray over the bolts. Based on that info I decided to have them spray over the bolts. I'm just the messenger....not sure if it's accurate.

Yeah I’m sure they just shoot em in at the factory.
Taking it off is not that hard. Doing it nice just takes a little time.

I read this multiple times, saw what you did in your build thread, read the d-ring DIY thread, and still couldn't get the bolts out. I just reread this again and it clicked "that washer doesn't separate from the bolt." I am so dense.
I wanted to put the d-ring between the washer and bolt, oh well I guess I'll have to do it the same way as everyone else. Except that I don't have a way to notch the washer, so this is back on hold like everything else.

Yeah I knew the washer was your problem. Screw it, just score around the washer like Mark did.

WhAt did you use to mount your Rotopak inside the bed? Bed rails? What was used to drop it from the rail?

I can’t believe it’s only 2 weeks away and it’s still snowing there. And they’re getting some rain. We’re going to encounter some washouts.
