    I prefer ribeye as well, but I am also good with NY strips. They turned out damn good. They had a little bit of a sweet maple syrup taste to them which was quite pleasant with the strips. I added some crushed pepper to give them a slight spice as well as some salt, garlic, and rosemary. The family enjoyed them. The kids (ages 6 and 2) wanted more steak and are currently eating their 3rd serving. I will be doing this recipe again if I do not run out of syrup. Thank you @Pudge!

    I had a tree fall in the yard yesterday and it took out half of another tree, and was leaning against it and also part of my neighbors fence. I had no idea it was damaged and rotting. I'm in my yard all the time and never noticed it. So that resulted in having my tree guy come today to cut it free, the other tree down and also cut down 2 other like trees in the area. Hooked me up on the price but wasnt planning on dropping a grand on tree service. Good news is I now have about 4 cords of wood to cook syrup with next season.

    If it’s any merit, we had extreme winds here last week (83mph plus) Many big trees were knocked over from the root up, fences down, semi trucks flopping on the highways, trampolines (the big ones) flying out of yards into others, roof shingles, siding being blown off houses etc. Ultimately, it resulted in one death. I’ve never seen winds that extreme here.

    Wow thats terrible

    This was weird cuz the weather has been great and it wasn't even that windy. I think what happened was the tree developed a small vertical crack somehow, I think it may have actually been ants. Then this winter it got water inside, which froze and made the crack worse. You could barely see it in the bark. But ended up being a crack that traveled about 4 feet up the trunk, and had a rotted cavity clear through the tree, probably 20 inch diameter tree, and 10 inches inside was hollowed out for almost the whole 4 feet of crack. I'm just happy no one got hurt

    Haha this is true. I hate pine trees, Except to burn to cook syrup. Everyone gives away pine around here cuz tbey can't burn it for heat, due to creosote buildup but I can for syrup, since the evaporator stack has no damper and burns at 800°+, which burns that creosote right away. So maybe I love pine trees
