I’ve also got the Valhalla’s (painted them myself). I got them early, and before lead times were crazy…I’m not sure what lead time is looking like now, but I know there are a few other alternatives out there.

Another for Valhalla, you can ask him and occasionally get lucky and see if anyone backed out of a set that he had cut and ready to go, normal lead times are still an average of 2 months so it seems, but every so often he will have a random set ready to ship now if someone wants it because of someone backing out etc.

 

I went with the Valhallas also, but am still waiting. I did get the thicker steal and red powder coating to go with the red accents on my LR, so that most likely affected my lead time. Ordered on March 20, but Tyler (man-of-men and manufacturer regarding these plates) is working his ass off with the side hustle in the face of this insanely accelerated demand. I think it will be worth the wait. On the other forum:

The lead times are a bit erratic in reports, but most of us feel this is a 1st world problem and are exercising patience - I strongly believe in this. I knew this was a possibility when I chose Valhalla, but I really did think it was the best option for what I was looking for in quality, customizable, and supporting a non-corporate entity in my fellow American.

The world seems to be off-tilt right now and I refuse to follow suit.

 

I fully respect all of that. And mostly keep myself hidden in the mountains to avoid the shenanigans. I'm seeing more instances of trailheads getting hit and figure the investment is worth the anxiety reduction.

Speaking of the world being off-tilt, I scooted over to Colorado this week to help transport two elderly weimaraners that got dumped in the shelter in Utah (I hate bad dog owners ). The girls rode in style in the backseat and I transferred them to a rescue and hopefully they will live out their golden years in homes that treat them right. Stealing a cat for some quick cash is low. Dumping a ten year old dog because you don't have time for it? Rot in hell. I tossed the bike and sup in the back and I'm turning it into a bonus roadtrip. Spotted one LR CM on the drive and matched my first LR tundra on tinder

Was finally able to ceramic coat the truck, definitely not a professional but I'm satisfied, maybe ppf next year with a professional detail.

I figured I would post this in the LunaRock club. I stopped by at my local dealer yesterday and just chatting with my salesman who I have been dealing with for a long time and bought some of my Pro’s from him. I also got my 22 Camry from him. He was telling me they are having still a very hard time getting vehicles especially the Pro’s. They have one LunaRock tundra Pro coming in and it will be a first come type deal. Also he said they will be asking 4000 over msrp. I know if I wanted it he would hook me up. But no thank you if I would need to pay that extra over msrp. You are talking almost 20,000 more than I paid for my 21. He said they cannot even get Pro’s and don’t know what’s going on.

 

Surprised it's not already presold... What dealership is it?

PS You could always upgrade what you currently have to this beast and add a supercharger for under $20k!! (one of my kids found it on the internet and said I should do this too - guess they know I still have the stock Michelins)

What pieces did you order? I'm confused by the website and what we need with the pro skid plate.

 

it's the same plate. after you select your plate thickness and powder coating options, you select whether you have a pro skid plate or not.

 

Hi, Just let Tyler know it’s for a Pro and you will get the 2 plates plus brackets and nuts and bolts. You just need to decide on what thickness and powder coat. I chose the 1/4 aluminum. No one sees them and not have to worry about rust. Hope this helps.

So you went front and back? The transmission cover and the rear transfer case cover also? It sounds like the rear isn't entirely necessary as the "converters" are resonators and don't have the same value and are inaccessible with the front cover. Thanks for the help clarifying, sometimes I feel like an idiot with these things

 

The second plate that covers the trans, and the rear cats are beneficial, as the average thief isn’t going to question if it’s 4 or 2 cats, they are going to assume it’s money, and cut them all. It’s worth it in the end for the extra $200ish for the rear piece to match it.

 

No Problem, Correct. Yeah just the2 pieces. It covers the transmission and transfer case. Just make sure who installs them remove the black transfer case cover so it don’t touch the plates and make noise. Also my guy used my Pro skid plate bolts. No need to buy them.

 

Hey Annie, Also with the 3/16 is theft deterrent I went with the 1/4 yes it is more but it’s also if you off road which look like you do a lot. More protection. Sounds like everyone here loves the Valhallas, but the Utah toyota owners recommended Talons Garage. $620+35 shipping for transmission and transfer case shields in bare 1/4in aluminum. That same configuration at Valhalla is $945+70 shipping. Am I missing something?

That is a big difference in price. Did not know about that place. Cannot help you on that. Maybe someone will chime in.

 

Essentially the same design.
If I recall, at some point there was something about stolen designs/ideas/whatnot i think between the two (no idea the details).
Hard to argue with a savings of $300

It was someone that worked on something for Valhalla and essentially took cad files to make them himself, then named his company talon, if I remember it right.

 

I say....$300 savings is 300 savings.... let the two company's figure out the legal stuff of patient infringement laws
