I agree that now is a horrible time to buy almost any vehicle, even more a tundra pro. I just think people are in a bad spot because they think prices will go down and they might get lucky when that time come. The issue is that prices won’t go down and based on the recently released pricing they are going up by more than 10k so that will affect the used prices even more than current conditions. That’s why I tell people if they can buy a tundra at MSRP or any vehicle at MSRP than they are doing well. Waiting might actually cost people more money. Just my thought.

If one wishes to buy a brand new product in an already scarce market after that product has stopped being produced, one is most likely going to pay an inflated price for it.

    Best of luck, OP!

Where you at? I just bought a TRD Pro last week and they let me make a deposit on it before it came in, and I was not in the same state. Dealer was in PA.
Edit: I just saw you’re in AZ, sorry a dealer in PA doesn’t help. Just keep looking! Find a dealer that is just using stock photos because that means it’s in route. The picture for mine wasn’t even a CrewMax and I almost didn’t even call on it. Called on it, and it was everything I wanted!

Question: I may have found one out of state, the drive is over 1,000 miles and wanted to know if there should be any concerns of driving a brand new vehicle 1,000 miles within a span of a day and a half at highway speeds?

Personally, I would save yourself the money and buy an SR5 and build it up to a TRD Pro. It might be a cheaper option.

Taking a brand new engine and running it at highway speeds at a consistent rpm is not good for it. RPM’s should varied, avoid heavy throttle usage, keep rpm’s down.

I bought mine from KY and drove it back to GA, no issues. Hunted for months. Put $7k of mods on it, got it just how I want it, now I’m going to sell it

Frustrated as well OP. I can get a new F250 7.3 Tremor loaded up very nice for less than a Pro right now.

Love Tundras....at the right price. At $60k+ the Tundra is, to me, not a stand out. And no rcta or blind spot on the Pro! Sub $50 a nicely optioned 4x4 Tundra is the greatest truck out there.

I wouldn't think so. But time is money. I purcahsed my Corolla XRS in Topeka, Kansas. I had it shipped. Yes, that will cost some $$$. But so does gas, tolls and 24 hours of your time.

Check your dealers now. Mine is coming in this week I know they have another coming also. A bunch of trucks were held up at the port and recently released.

I am at MSRP not happy about that but wiling to pay to play.

MSRP is as low as you’re gonna get most of the time. Even before this madness.

Not sure if this is a serious post or not but if it is, screw the appearance package and get an sr5 with the upgrade package. YMMV

On Katskinz, when I looked in the Seattle area they were about $3.5k. Is there a discount code I’m missing?

not that I'm aware of. $2k is just what I've seen members all over the country on this board report as paying. Could be DIY install pricing, or pre-madness pricing - while your shop quoted you "I'm too busy to take this on right now" pricing.

Live in Ohio, most of all the local dealers are sold out on every Tundra. Snagged my '21 about a month ago. Pro's are difficult to find, let alone @ msrp.

Keep searching, bro. I've been doing the same thing and finally happened to have the Tundra gods allow the stars to align in my favor. I called an out of state dealership first thing in the morning on a listing that popped up late the previous night through a search cars.com. I was told the vehicle was just being cleaned up and placed on display, and that it was still available w/o the huge "market adjusted price". I asked the person, how the hell that truck made it to the dealership w/o being pre-sold and was told the dealership runs a first come first served policy. I dropped an immediate deposit and secured the transaction at just over $58k.

Regarding your desire to get what you want... "the PRO trim". Hold your ground on that! The factory PRO build is more than just a bed stamp, slight lift, and some red stitching on the leather seats.

It was time time to replace my 2008 Tundra. I really enjoyed the truck, but it now has over 1/4 million miles. I waited to see what the 2022s were bringing, and I simply don't care for the new design. I've been aggressive in my search for a 2021 PRO since the release of the 2022s info, and it finally paid off for me.

I do understand your frustration, at one point I got fed up and actually dropped a deposit on a build for a 2022 Ford Tremor using X-Plan pricing (about $4,500 under MSRP). Within about 3 days of ordering that vehicle, I was back to searching for a Tundra PRO. I trust the reliability of the Tundra over the Ford, and it is familiar ground to me (just a whole lot better than my 08 SR5). Financially speaking, it makes no sense for me to take the Tundra over the Ford. I could take delivery of the Ford and sell it the next day for MSRP to any dealer w/zero hassle.

Anyhow, that's my 2 cents. Good luck on your search, and just FYI most of the dealers I spoke w/are saying that the plants are now shut down the remaining 2021 allocations are trickling to the dealers over the next few weeks. If you find one available, grab it! If you're going to flip the car in a year or 2, price matters a lot more. If you're going to keep it 100,000+, I'd be a little more willing to bite the bullet and pay the BS market adjustment...

LoL the worlds leading capitalized country is going to tell the corporate system they created to sell things for less??

Sell items for as high as anyone is willing to pay and pay workers the lowest they are going to accept is sort of the moto isn't it? Sadly.

It's always great to hear a success story during these unprecedented times. I will remain patient and won't make an impulse decision. I want the Tundra Pro, but I don't need it. My 2018 Tacoma is still a fantastic truck and I still enjoy the hell out of it.

"Even before this madness"...NOT True- before the madness (Covid BS) 10% or more off MSRP was the norm- I purchased 01/20 (Before the so-called madness) and MSRP was 48600$ I negotiated to 42k >13%off MSRP

If you have a Pro, when you go to Home Depot do you park up front in the "pro" section?
