Looks pretty clean. So you offered, and he accepted? Hope it works out for you

Looks like a leaky valve cover to me.

I have an appointment at the dealer in Tacoma on Tuesday for an inspection. Hope all goes well, but I think it's $200 well spent.

Don't be alarmed if they "find" a lot of issues and include a crazy estimate. Dealer repair prices are insane. It's a good idea to have it inspected but just be prepared for potential sticker shock.

Definitely! It's more for making sure there isn't something grossly wrong that would keep me from driving it home to CA. I've already got a pretty darn good deal, I think, but it would mostly reinforce my offer's validity. I'm fairly mechanically inclined and can do a lot as long as I can find the tools in my box.
Wondering how the road trip would be driving from WA to San Diego this time of year. :rain: Hopefully no big snow storms!

Not bad. I’m going for the stock look with the least modifications to start with.
Curious @Lundy, do you tow much down to the desert? Do you do any smallish trails (Valley of the Moon, Borrego or Big Bear), etc?

Don't worry about the snow. You'll be driving a tundra. Hoping your purchase comes to fruition.

I was wondering. Those prices seemed a little low.

Good on you for knowing which usedlots specialize in rebuilt titles. There are definitely quite a few that could get you perked up with price and pics. Then, after a few searches you stop looking at anything from said lots.

I’ve almost given up on most lots and look for private party sellers exclusively.

Flying to Canada and driving back to Mexico is going to have to wait. I can't seem to pull the trigger on such a long-distance deal. :annoyed:

For what it's worth my last 4 vehicles were buy & fly.

2009- bought a cali 06 tundra; sold in 2023, put over 230k on it.

20018- bought my wife a Arkansas subaru sti, sold in 2021, put over 30k on it.

2021- bought wife a an 04 cali sequoia; which we didn't even fly to buy. Put it on a transport. Still running great and will be our 15 yours bday gift next year. So far almost 30k on it.

    2022-bought a TN 12 tundra

All have been great vehicles without major issues. Just maintenance and miles.

I’m the one in Cali though, and buying from those other states, haha. Flying to darn near Canada ended up being the killer. I’m just having trouble with patience, I guess. So the search continues for a clean, southern truck.

I think I posted that one earlier in the year. That guy bought it and is flipping it. The sales price was 5K I believe.

Haha. Every day, all day still. It’s a bit tough at the moment with a bunch of things taking up time, including preparing for our first grandchild and baby showers, etc.
I’ve had to let some go due to time constraints. If it’s going to happen soon, it’ll have to be in my backyard, otherwise I don’t have the time to travel at the moment.
I’m still lurking in the shadows and will definitely chime in when something happens.

Says "Limited" in the title, but SR5 badge on the door. Don't all Limiteds come in leather? Rear bumper a little jacked up. NOT A 4X4.
