    I love being able to keep the bed and still get the travel. Did well last weekend but the extra up-travel smashed the rear fenders up a bit. Hopefully the rear bedsides will be here soon and can push it a bit more with some weight. Only had about 200lbs in the bed so far. Was able to do a little crawling and a few high speed sections bit no real whoops.

    No I heard they dont work - but also heard its the same as helper spring or keeper spring. I am confused.

    Eibach wouldn't even quote them, and PAC wanted 7k$ for 2 springs, even though it was a part number they listed. Hyperco stepped up and is making the springs for our 3.0 LT shock as well as springs for the 3.0 bolt in coilover we are working on for the Tacoma/4Runner.

    I had to switch to 800# coils also. I was binding on the 700# ones (Foxs). I also know a dude with Kings and he's binding at 700# also. These big trucks need larger coils.

    Eibach had 3.0 (for 2.5 coilover) 800# coils for me

    Do you know if the dude with the 700# Kings did a retrofit coil/perch/adjuster ring, or used the bigger TC spec coil(bigger diameter)?

    Ive always preferred 800lb coils on these trucks.

    The coils that come on the TC spec kings are a 5" OD spring, they are an odd size and only 600lb spring, options are extremely limited for those as well.

    Most of the 3.75" ID springs are really long in the heavier rates.

    Then there is that one company who runs a dual rate on a 8" shock for some stupid reason. These trucks already need as much spring travel as possible without wasting it on a useless tender spring.

    They have the King coil in 700# now. Pretty sure he said they are from an overseas LC 200 application. Told me I needed the bigger coil.

    Well if you add bumper slider skids etc then 700# isn't an option because they bind.

    The 800# handles the big stuff really well, but its a little harsh on the chop.

    Buuut my truck doesn't feel like a boat anymore in the turns. Feels like I installed some sway bars or something LOL

    Depends on the kit. The downside to trying to have ground clearance is you end up with a really short shock. Camburg uses a longer shock (still an 8") which allows for a longer spring which will have more spring travel. You just bounce the lower arm off every pebble on the trail.

    This may be a dumb question but do you need to get longer shocks up front for the LT kits or can you just use the existing ones that you buy already 2.5-3” longer leveling?

    In theory you could but you won't be realizing the full travel potential of the kit.

    They wont work in general, most kits are 8" travel shocks, most OEM replacements are 6-7" of travel with a really long lower rod end

    I think it has to do with where the shock mounts on the LCA? Matt didn't seem surprised when I mentioned it to him and he said, "No, you can't run those in the LT kit."

    I believe it does. All the kits are different and spec slightly different shocks, Camburg I'm pretty sure uses a longer shock. Mostly, to my understanding, the travel comes from moving the wheel out so that it's traveling in a larger arc.

    Yeah I agree about the coil length. But in my case the extra ground clearance is mandatory. It still rides very well, it just got a little stiff over the chop when I switched to 800#

    Currently in the bypasses I have low flow pistons with a 120 stack with the top off removed. I'm going back to a single flutter 120 and put the top off back in and see how that works.

    haha craig! I already bent the sht out of the bottom of one of my arms too #drivebetter

    When you say longer do you mean overall length or stroke length? because its the stroke that matters. You can always change the rod end to get different overall length.

    couldnt you just get a longer 700# spring so you dont need as much preload, but it will still ride better than the 800# spring?
