This forum rocks. I too had a Tacoma and was a transplant from TW.

Welcome to Tundras and congrats on the new truck!

I, also, traded in my old Taco for a Tundra. (I got the Taco new in 2005 and put almost 100,000 miles her with ZERO issues.) I used the Taco to pull an 18-foot camper trailer and we wanted to buy a 34-foot camper so the Taco had to go....it wasn't easy giving the keys to the Toyota guy. But the Tundra is awesome...the only problem is she is so BIG it can be a pain to park out in at restaurants and stores but I've learned to park far away (or take another car for that). Lots of mods available for the Tundra, too, as you'll find in here!

    Welcome from Colorado!

    Sacrifice yourself!
I had a 2000 Toyota 4runner with the 3.4l v6, it was pretty gutless. However I also have had a 1998 Toyota T100 4x4 with the 3.4l v6 and it seemed as if it had substantially more power. The difference was how the rear differential is geared. The T100's gearing will be more designed for towing. It should not have a problem towing that kind of weight.

The Tacoma's V-6 will have no problem pulling a 4,000 pound trailer around. My Taco pulled an 18-foot camper all over Colorado for years with no problems. (You do always want to get an anti-sway hitch, though, with our high winds out in the west...no matter what you're pulling around.)
