How you like it so far? Was checking out some Indians lately.

Been looking at street bikes again.

I'm not really sure what to look for now days. This is what I don't want:

    - Sport bike. No need anymore and have no practicality at all for this guy.
    - Harley. Like the style, just not the brand. I have a few friends that own HD and have told me to look at Indians or something else. This surprised me a little since they are die hards. Least they were honest.
    - Dual sport/adventure bike. Not my thing. I have a dirtbike. Once my daughter gets a bit more seasoned, she can ride my bike and I can look at something a little more suited for what I really want for a trail bike.

Maybe I should explain what I do like to get some suggestions:

-Performance. Power/handling. It doesn't have to be a Ducati, but it should perform well in its class.
-Reliability. I can't stand having constant dealership visits.

Some of the bikes I've looked at and it will be all over the place:

    -Ducati Diavel. IMG_8269.jpg
    KTM super Duke
    IMG_8268.jpg

    Indian Scout

Have you looked at the Honda Goldwing Valkyrie? It's basically a goldwing with a different style and with the fairing and bells and whistles removed. I think they are gorgeous, but I need a bit more dirt capability. They only made them for a couple years because they didn't sell well. Honda was going for a "super cruiser" or something like that.

I actually found one that is still brand new for sale when I was poking around. If you don't mind a road trip to get it I can see if it's still for sale.

I'll be damned. Never knew a goldwing was designed like this. Kinda cool.

Yup, and quite a bit cheaper than a regular GW or a Harley.

YES, love me some old school UJM's!! Nice bikes.
Nice rides, decent power and easy to work on.
I would imagine finding parts now might be getting dicey though.

Mine were more of the Standard variety, but similar.
    '83 Honda 650 Nighthawk, '84 Nighthawk S 700, and '85 Sabre 750.

The Sabre got me into the V4 Hondas and I had a bunch of sport bikes after that.

Full circle now and back to what passes for a Standard now; '15 Kawasaki Versys 1000. (Got the heart of a sport bike though...she rips.) :D

My neighbor has a Ducati. He loves it. Me? I see it as an Audi or something, more maintenance but I am probably wrong.
The Scout is nice. Guy at my gym has one.

You're not. Italian bikes are called "quirky" or people say they have "personality" but they don't ever call them low maintenance and even reliable is not the most common adjective.

Yes. Yes it is. I adore the look of the bike. If I lived all on pavement I would have to test ride one. It's rocking a flat 6 for crying out loud!

I’m a huge fan of the Ducati streetfighter. The V4 is probably the best bike I’ve ever ridden. If you don’t need the power, as I don’t, take a look at the twin.

That V4 (Ducati in general) is pretty maintenance friendly too. First valve lash check is at 36K miles. 205 hp can be a lot. I've taken a newer V-max for a spin and those are a hoot.

I've had friends who have and love them. As much as I'm all about ktm, and I see you considered the super duke, when it comes to maintenance a Ducati or triumph would be easier overall. Or you could get a super moto from ktm. That would be a fun little canyon cruiser.

Good list. I would add this 2024+ Yamaha MT-09 SP. Great-sounding triple engine, usable electronics, above-average suspension and braking components. It's also cheaper. I had the 2021 version. Just traded it in to afford my current bike.
