I like T-Rex Racing a lot, they sent me a bunch of kit to testfit for them on my current bike. I'll be going back for my fiance's new bike bits very soon.

Oh hello there. We've probably met, then! Ridden a bunch at DCTC with Zars (Haha, also did a couple rounds with MotoMinnesota when that ran for a summer! That was the wild west of trackday orgs right there.)

Cool. Hello there as well. Yeah we've probably met before. I also rode with a few other organizations in the the past. RiderCourse ran DCTC track days and TrackAddix ran trackdays at BIR

Yeah, it has a really strong motor and most electronics from the R1 (up-and-down quickshifter, several riding modes, traction control, abs, wheelie control). Yamaha also enhanced the chassis and suspension from the last model.

Just talking about it makes me want to keep the bike and just sell my Ninja 400 in order to afford a KTM 890 Adventure or Yamaha Tenere 700. But then I won't have a track bike if I sell the 400.

I sat on both of these (890 and 700) in the last month and dreamed...they are both nice bikes. Also drooled over this one.....gah...I have to many things that needs time/maintenance as it is. Need to start selling things off and get a bigger garage.

That's a gorgeous bike. I almost bought that instead of my MT-09. But I over analyze things.

If anyone is looking for rackless panniers, Giant Loop is running a sale for the next 4 days. 50% off, so it's not a small discount either! They also have free pannier pockets with the purchase of a fandango tank bag, and free stainless steel GL Mounts with every $75+ purchase. Apparently they are discontinuing their orange gear as well, so if you want that color now is the time to get it. https://www.giantloopmoto.com/

Use the code here to get the discounts.

I don't know why they don't come with big feet from the factory. The stock foot is ridiculously small and even road bikes have trouble in the summer when the asphalt is hot and soft. I have one on my FJR.

My 270lb supermoto tipped over due to the small kickstand foot, so it's not just a heavy bike issue.

Oh for sure. All bikes are vulnerable (and have been for decades). A big foot does not compromise the stand in any way, it still folds up without interference. I bet the side stand "engineer" is the same one who specifies the pip squeak horns on most Japanese motorcycles also.

I finally got out this morning and put about 20 miles riding on the motorcycle. Took it to a middle school parking lot near the house and practiced a bit as I haven’t practiced nearly enough. Stayed there for about a half hour practicing maneuvers and shifting / downshifting, feathering the clutch, etc. Then got out on some backroads and took a ride. It felt good. I need way more practice but live in an area where there are some good roads to drive for practice.

Always the plan! Been back to Summit a couple times since that T3 yardsale. This'll be the first time in what's projected to be a torrential downpour.

For being 90% chance of thunderstorms, 20mph winds, and projected hail...yesterday turned out awesome. 70-80 degrees and humid all day but no rain whatsoever. The forecast scared a lot of folks off...maybe 30 riders between three classes all day. Last session of the day there were only three of us for the whole 2.1 mile course. Had an absolute blast and got a bump up to E2 class.

Sounds like a helluva day! Idk what the classes are, so you'd have to explain "E2" for me to understand its significance.

P.S. You need a drop hitch.

Just moved up from entry/novice to intermediate. And there's actually an 8" drop hitch on there....SS high clearance rear bumper puts the receiver so damn high. Add to that a lift...well yeah lol.

I decided last week that my Vee needed a bigger side stand foot as well, and a closer inspection of the tiny factory foot showed that it was worn through on the bottom so attaching anything to it was a waste of time. So out came a piece of 1/4” steel, a couple of metalworking tools, and a can of black paint.
