Did you get any miles on that beast yet Adam? @GODZILLA Or are you still in a winter wonderland, busy adulting…?

I got the Zuki out yesterday, put somewhere around 50km on it. Really liking the bike so far, but it sure is easy to surprise myself when I look down at the speedo.

    Still at zero. :(

This set of days off (starts Wednesday) weather should be clear and I think I can squeeze a little time in.

You're just getting practice in for your license, right?

Practice time, and having some fun too. :) My final road test is in two weeks, I’m so looking forward to having that behind me.

Hubs has his Rider Coach testing next month to become a MC instructor. I was planning on taking my courses and test after hes done but apparently last year was a fluke when they had two offerings. I have to wait until next May unless they have ‘enough interest’. :(

Picked this up last week. Will pair well with the CT90, just need to find a CA77 Dream now.

And my 17 yr old called me at work today saying he found a bike he wants to buy. "Dad...it's only about 4 hours away!" Currently bound for South Dakota...

That Triumph is a sic bike. Unfortunately, is it out of his price range (he keeps buying MTN bikes).

Well, as you can tell he made his choice and handed over a wad of cash (for a youngster).

My son rode a red 2013 CBR 250 a few years ago. Loved it and it was fun to ride. He upgraded to a 2021 CBR 600rr last year.

Thanks. Yeah, it’s a huge weight off. It was iffy whether I was going to be able to take the test with other more important things going on, but it worked out and passing first try is a big relief. Not like I’m done learning and improving, just the pressure is off.

You get some seat time on that new beauty of yours?

I don’t think you’ll regret picking one up. Easy bike to ride in my very limited experience.

Yeah, I'm probably less experienced than you at this point, so I can relate to the "never done learning" aspect. Having the freedom to get out and go and know that the license is out of the way is a major boon, though.

As for me riding, I've only been out on 3 short rides. Still getting the feel for the bike, but enjoying it. I've got a really good feeling that I chose wisely. The CB500X is a jack of all trades that is potent enough to be plenty quick, but tame enough to be approachable. I love it, and I've spent this whole hitch at work just waiting to get out on it. The weather has been crap though. Cold and raining for days, so the road I live on has been muddy soup. Not something I want to test on a new bike with no crash bars at my novice skill level. It'll happen someday though!

Nope. That money well spent. First time you drop it that crashguard made its money back. Same with the skid. The kickstand shoe however....

The kickstand shoe is being purchased because my driveway/parking area is soft ground. Currently it's parked on the old license plate from my SxS, but I want to be sure if I forget that it doesn't sink and tip over.

Yep, all valuable including the kick stand shoe. All Japanese motorcycles have tiny feet on their kickstands and if they are not placed on solid granite have a tendency to sink. The heavier the motorcycle, the worse the effect.

That's a good starter bike. I coach MSF Basic Rider course in Eden Prairie and DCTC. I also ride with Zars at DCTC, and hope to coach there too if the schedules align next year.

Yep, figure it will do him well for a year. He did hid MSF Basic course last weekend (really liked it), yesterday - took his permit test and got all of safety gear at Bob's :spending:, today the bike gets new rubber and I hope to do a fork seal this weekend. Should be good to go then.

    I like Dunlop Q4s and Bridgestone S22R for street & track use. S22Rs are what I have on my Ninja 400 and the Q3 & Q4s on my previous SV650S, CBR600RR, R6 and 765R.
