What year is your V-strom? 650 or 1000? I can’t quite read the VIN plate or see if there is dual exhaust…:D

Yeah, they are a bit heavy handed with their own brands these last couple years. You can't find any of the RevZilla "best gear" videos that don't have Sedici/Bilt stuff in them. They might be offering fine gear, but I'll never know because they all look kinda like knock offs of other stuff in the lineup.

    I might be bitter.

I'm ready for a new helmet. My modular is too damn loud. I've been eyeing the Shoei modular though. Probably gonna get a new jacket for summer riding. Black textile is too damn hot.

Also. We need pics of what you got. We like pics. Like, a lot.

If you want quiet, cheapest route is roll up ear plugs. Most expensive; Schuberth Helmets.

As for pics of my stuff, it's just an order right now. Nothing in hand.

Nice! I like that helmet. Mines boring in flat black. My next one is gonna be white, as well as my jacket. Well, either white or gray.

Problem with earplugs is then I can't hear my music. I can barely hear it now with all the wind noise. I'm pretty sure it would be better if I got a standard helmet, but I love having a modular.

That's what I had at first and yeah, one always falls out. I got the freedom so me and the gf can talk, but above 55 we can't hear each other. Plus trying to find the mic button to switch songs is nearly impossible.

Schuberth makes the quietest modular. They're heavy, and not cheap, but that's going to be your best bet. https://www.revzilla.com/modular-motorcycle-helmets?view_all=&page=1&limit=96&facets[]=737&has_loyalty_discount=false&is_new=false&is_sale=false&is_made_in_usa=false&is_holiday=false&is_blemished=false&sort=price_asc&fit=

I used to wear Etymotic ER6i buds at the track. Things were suctioned into your ear holes like glue, noise cancelling, and I could listen to tunes to calm the nerves for when someone was chomping at my rear tire. I don’t know what their latest iteration is but theyre fn awesome for riding and stay in until you pry them out.

Husband just sold his Tenere a half hour ago. Hands-off as soon as the title was signed over (CYA from the blame-game bs).
Carnage. They got it up in the truck (F250 with a deck drawer system taking half the bed up), the front wheel cocked while they were tying it down, bike tipped over onto one of them, pinned his legs and knocked him out of the bed. Hubs caught and helped him and it then took all three of them to get the bike back upright because it had hooked itself on the bed rail and between the deck system and cab.
Damaged the truck and bike. At least the new owner got the first scratches and dings out of the way I guess.

No he kept getting low balled and sat on it til spring. Apparently theyre unobtainable still, this guy had a deposit for a year on one and hubs had about a half dozen others wanting it with the same story. Yamaha isnt pumping them out enough to keep up with demand.

Only 460ish lbs but tall af. The helper was the one who got bowled over, he was fine. The owner was understandably super bummed out.

It's a 2008 650. There are times that I wish I had some more HP, but for the most part the Wee is enough, I'm not huge, and when I take it camping, my setup is pretty simple. Bought it in '08 with one mile on it, it's about to roll over 85,000 miles, most of which were done the first three or four years. That cute little blond kid takes up most of my free time now, but it's worth it.

With the rarity, at those low miles I would expect to pay full MSRP price. They're unobtanium right now and dealers are marking them up.

That's pretty damn light for an adv. My aprilia is 400lbs. Granted, it's a 660 vs the 1100 at 450lb.

Anyone have either a cardo or sena device for motorcycle coms? I'm unsure what to get. I've done a bunch of research but would like real opinions.

Normally I ride alone or with 2-3 other people. A few times a year I participate in larger group rides or events with a larger groups of riders. I ride a Yamaha Tenere 700, so "adventure riding" spending 75% of my time off road.

I don't really care for voice commands or phone calls, but I would like to listen to music, and I do often wear earplugs inside my helmet.

I want something reliable. Hook it up and not have to fiddle with it while out riding. I don't want to have to stop every 20min to fiddle with it.

My husband and I have senas in our helmets that we use when we’re flying. They work friggin awesome (have heard each other about ten miles apart in the air), crystal clear, battery lasts forever. Theyre packed away with our harnesses so cant tell you what model at the moment though..

I have a Cardo freecom II. Would not recommend. Me and the gf can't hear each other above 55. I can barely hear my music above 55. And that's without ear plugs. The range is crap too. Not even 1/4 mile.

So this actually happened almost 3 weeks ago now, that this followed me home. I had been eyeballing DL650’s but couldn’t say no to this 2002 DL1000 for the price. It has high miles, needs tires, and I discovered more issues when I got it home, but I’m hoping to get it on the road in a couple weeks.

Okay, I gotta play. My one and only road race, racing my Honda CR-110 at Cotati in 1971. I took second place.
