Here's my new pup Duke (making himself at home on my bed even though he has his own right next to it). Just turned 18 months old. Had to put my last dog down in November, so I waited a few months before picking up this goofball 3 months ago from an area dog rescue.

    Duke-1.jpg

Taking him out into the desert, I've found so far that he'll instinctively chase birds, jackrabbits, coyotes (trouble!) and will herd loose cattle, but for some reason, he just stares at wild horses. Here's a nice shot from down by the river one morning a few weeks ago-

My new cell--Nokia Lumia 635 Windoze Phone. I'm pretty impressed with its image quality coming from a phone.

Damn that is impressive. I rarely take out my camera gear unless I'm shooting an event. Lugging around gear gets old. I wish my iPhone had better camera.

Ya, I didn't set out to take pics that morning, which is why I didn't have anything other than the phone with me. I'm sure glad now that it was in my pocket once the opportunity popped up.

It's probably a good thing that your dog only stares at wild horses.

Definitely. Just got back from a camping trip in the Sierras where I learned that he'll chase deer too. We had just stepped out of the woods onto a dry lake bed where a good-sized doe was munching about 150 feet away. She saw us and bolted with my pup in hot pursuit. Chased her all the way across to the other side (about 1/2 mi) and up into the trees. I just found some shade and waited because I knew she'd outrun him and sure enough, he came trotting back out about five minutes later.
