I loved them when I was growing up, but I grew to hate them after having kids. I mean, I'm surprised I don't have permanent lego-shaped imprints on the bottom of my feet, damm!t.

Hi I’m a Dave, I’m a Lego-holic. I am bad about collecting them but rarely put the together anymore. Lol. Sadly, I lately buy two of the sets, one to assemble and one to keep new in the box. Two Millennium Falcons, two excavators and soon. I’d hate to guess what I’ve spent on them over the years. Probably a Tundra worth. Lol

But not quite enough to know that it is LEGO not Lego. ;-)

Also just bulk LEGO, in an amazing variety of options:

Well shit - for that price and the fact Lego hasn't released an FJ40, I just had to order one. Been itching for my next Lego project. Not sure I want to drop $450 on the Cat D11.

My wife has been sick for several days (not covid) so I have been home with the kiddos so she can rest.

I took my boys to the store to buy this as something we could do together:
    Screenshot_20211001-123008_Chrome.jpg

They weren't super interested, so rather than drop $100, I opted for something smaller, which turned out to be a big hit:

    Screenshot_20211001-123048_Chrome.jpg

They chose the crane build first. It's a pretty fun set for under $20.

I've always been a big fan of the Creator sets because you get three different options to build.

This is pretty old now, but I picked up my boxes of old Lego from my parent's house (nobody throws away Lego). There were two kits I was able to put back together using instructions online. My son and I put these two classics together:

Lego 7722 Train set. Still works, now on display in my office.
    UFAdOfAqo7k7TLfrWG-L3SBkaFk43yW2JKEDusgE_a1605644a27c6f9e3da469502a2f1c02dd8ab178.jpg

Here's a lego C12 boat. Not sure the code, I looked it up when I rebuilt it.

My son with Benny's Space Ship about 5 years ago now:

Found these MINT condition relics in my grandparent's basement a few years back when they passed. Should have kept them in box, but toys are meant to be played with:

This winter we have decided to dump out all of his Lego on to our pool table and spend all winter putting together as many of his kits as we can. We kept the instructions for most of them, especially the big sets. Have 6 sterilite tubs full of Lego to work through.

I’m in the process of doing the same with 20 years of buying my kids Lego. We’re going through them all, getting them fully assembled, taking pictures, deciding to keep or sell, then taking apart and bagging for storage.

Here’s a couple pictures of the Mack Anthem re-build as a dump truck/plow.

That one just showed up yesterday at the house. My wife just rolled her eyes…

I’ve only opened the box, but looks to be really good quality. I’m looking forward to it!

We also sorted out two Plano tackle trays off minifigs and accessories, and sorted a full rubbermaid tote of loose pieces out into colors.

getting down to the bigger sets soon…had my wife and younger daughter both helping after dinner till 11:15pm

And so we begin our reconstruction project. This is our first pass going through the 4 sterilite tubs cleaning out non LEGO items and Duplo blocks. The yellow bucket is all "people pieces". This doesn't include his extensive collection of Lego Dimensions sets which are will the Dimensions pad.

Yeah, instead of doing puzzles or something this winter. We tend to not do many trips in the Winter so this is our project. Kind of the sucky part is the first 5 instruction sets I pulled out my son told me "That's already built, it's upstairs on my shelf" Sigh. I'll find something to build.

Really need another sort to take out the flats and the blocks. Then maybe a final for special pieces and such.

we started with people (and associated things), then by color for the rest. If a specific color was too much, then we start to break those down.
I try to grab anything with printing on it if I’m sorting because those are always a bitch, but when someone else is sorting you get what you get

Spent the night in San Antonio and found out they have a Lego store on the River Walk. Very cool sets. I ended up biting the bullet and buying the Typewriter. I felt guilty and bought my daughter the Adidas shoe... and I bought a minifig banana man flashlight keychain. My wife had to drag me out of there.

    That typewriter is pretty cool.
My younger daughter and I spent nearly the entire day in the basement on the reconstruction/ inventory project. We got through a lot. Getting down to only the big City Block sets and a couple of creator kits.

Had a crappy day so I decided to take out some aggression by debarking a cedar log by hand. Then it rained, so I got started on the Lego typewriter. Had to break out the Twizzlers and the readers.

My daughter cracked open the Lego Adidas box - they even put tissue in there like it was a real pair of shoes.
