I haven't posted updates to the Falcon in a while. I didn't want to spam up the thread with daily updates. We took some time off to take a breather, get through some other hobbies. We got the back half enclosed, now the cockpit and front must be in the last internal box. We probably have 25-30 hours into it with me gathering the pieces and my son actually doing the building. I couldn't imagine doing this by yourself, it would be a LONG project. Also, it's way bigger in person...

 

I’m holding out hope her job can be a work from home, office once a week thing, Boston is 1-1/2 hour away, and a doable once a week commute


No way I’m moving towards any city

 

My son (22 yo) would accept that challenge and have it built in a day. He would enjoy it more to spread it out over time, but he just obsesses over them until they are built.

 

Not sure if you have this as a set or are piecing it together?

I bought the Millenium Falcon for his 9th birthday. He immediately opened every single numbered bag and dumped them all into a big bowl - but still had it built in a week. He's also got a Star Destroyer and some other ridiculously expensive sets that I always regret getting for him. For a couple of years his entire desk was just a massive Minecraft Lego world - but little sisters are relentless destroyers of joy sometimes..


Sounds like you are sourcing the pieces individually??

 

I didn't know this was a thing. For probably 20 years of my life I always had 1-2 pairs of white Superstars in my closet!

No, I gather the pieces needed for the build from the bags, my son builds with the pieces. If we would have dumped them all in a bowl I probably would have killed myself by now.

 

I definitely screamed out "NOOOOO!" as I caught him dumping the last bag out.. I think he learned his lesson over the next several days.

 

I have thousands of Legos for sale; most in sets. Is anyone interested?

 

Any porta potties with steamers?

I am. I’m trying to rebuild the X-wing I built for my son when he was a kid. My wife gave away 70% of our legos when we moved and I’m missing these stupid things for the engine.
Not that I’m bitter or anything…

Finally completed. Probably about 20 hours total. A great time for my son and me. Hopefully we can build a Star Destroyer together one day.

 

Have any of y’all seen lego masters?! I just learned this was a thing and just finished watching season 3. Gonna go back and watch the first 2 seasons when I get a chance
