I thought that the Limited came with the lamps factory, or am I thinking Platinum?

TRD rear sway bar, console organizer, stubby antenna, LEDs for cabin, cargo, license plate, and reverse lights, power-fold mirrors, Westin nerf bars, full stereo upgrade. Future - color-match grill surround/bulge, mirror caps, handles, plasti-dip badges.
The 3rd Gen Limited does not have the wiring for the puddle lights. I had to add wires for puddle lights, power fold, and auto-dim when I did the power-fold mod on my '18 Limited. The 2nd Gen Limited trim had the power fold and puddle lights stock. Toyota took it away from the Limited trim when they added the 1794 to the fleet (bastards).

I added the vleds puddle lights, awesome mod, my second favorite. Fav is leather wrapped steering wheel. Absolutely love the feel every time I drive. Puddles are great when I see them.

Does anyone know if there is a way to turn on the puddle lights by itself? They seem to turn on only when unlocking and fade away pretty quick I was looking into having the puddle light on at all times the driver door side is open.

Mine stay on when the door(s) are left open. They time out and go off after about 20 minutes.

If you wire them to the cargo circuit, you can manually turn them on and off with that switch.

    Yessir.

I wrote this up for a VLEDS installation to factory SR5 mirror housings (SR5 does not come with puddle).

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/installing-puddle-lights-on-factory-sr5-mirrors.44755/

You’ll just need to identify your light wire and then run that wire (or cut and run a new wire) to the harness that runs through your driver side rocker. Your door sill pops up without tools, and you’ll see the sheathed wire run. Pull the shield off and find your cargo circuit. It’s pink in 2018 SR5s. Good luck!

Just bought a full LED kit from VLED that showed up today and I realized the puddle lights don't clip in like stock, they use tape! WTF VLED!?!?! You charge $70 for a couple lights and then won't even make them using the factory clips!?!?!

That 3M tape is no joke. Mine are still tight, no issues, after years of driving, weather, and extreme temps.

Clean everything with isopropyl, let it dry, and use that tape- it works just fine.

Agree to disagree. The tape on 1 light wasn't even fully attached in the bag. Pulled it out and tried to stick it back on and it's not adhering. Sending these back and getting a set of morimoto puddle lights that clip in to the factory mirror.

    Alot of them
They will send you new tape. However, the info does show that it uses the VHB for install.

My experience has been that the tape has adhered for 3 years without coming loose.

There’s really nothing there to agree or disagree with.
