Are the fan bulbs better or are the modern fan less acceptable? I don't want to melt any wires.

I have the GTR Ultra which are the most expensive at the time. The brighter the bulb the warmer they will get. I have no issues with these. I also run the cougar motor sports H-11 in my driving lights they have a small fan compared to the GTR but i have had no problem with them either. The Cougars i got on Amazon for 40 bucks. The GTR's are around 200$ for a pair.
I can say they are about the brightest led bulb you can get. In my stock housings they light up everything. I Run the Alpha Rex projector housing now and that focuses the beam more than a reflector so i would have to say not as bright as they were but more hot spot in a projector.

Some are saying reflector ON the bottom and some are saying reflector FACING down. Guess I'll have to experiment. The stock halogens suck, and so do the HEADLIGHT EXPERTS leds I paid $100 for. We'll see how the Auxbeams work. I have had excellent luck with Cougar motors in our other 4 'yotas, but they are separate bulbs for hi/lo.

I installed these, and they worked well. No errors and brighter. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XTG9ZB8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s01?ie=UTF8

I am glad I found this thread and thanks to @TundraTSS19 for the Auxbeam recommendation and all the info from the guys who installed. I too put the cups facing down and had to flip them to the cup on the bottom but what a difference from the halogen bulbs. Also installed the Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport Fog lights I got from @memario1214 store hotshot offroad during the 4th of july sale and they cannot be beat for the price! I haven't been flashed by one passing vehicle yet and the wide angle coverage to spot deer in the ditches on the interstate and highways in the mornings makes it totally worth it. If anyone is looking for some bad ass fogs, here is the thread.....

Regarding the halogen headlight recall, does it not apply to those of us that switched to these LED bulbs? Can we tell the dealership to not disassemble the grill because the lights are aftermarket? Or, are they obligated to physically inspect it due to liability?

The key to LED bulbs is to buy quality. This is very much a case of you get what you pay for. The expensive bulbs (GTR Lighting Ultra 2, Supernova V.4, etc.) will give amazing results. It'll surprise you how intense they are and how good the beam patterns are. On the other hand, if you buy junk from eBay or Amazon you're going to scatter light all over the place, get flashed by oncoming traffic, and they'll burn out in a year or two from improper heat sink design.

So I threw in the auxbeam($36) LEDs tonight and I gotta say, they are wayyyyy better than the headlight expert lights I purchased!! And they have theeeee shittiest customer service ever, and the lights are not that good for being $100.

The beam pattern on the left is auxbeam And the pattern on the right in the first pic is headlight experts, for
    $36 I was pretty impressed..

We will see how long they last and they are not as bright as the headlight experts, but the pattern is what I mostly cared about

In the 2nd pic is the beam
Pattern of the new auxbeam, pretty close to stock.

all of this is on a 21 tundra sr5, no projectors, just standard headlights

Any longterm updates on the aux beams? Just ordered SS3 pro fogs and may get Auxbeam bulbs as well to get the same color temp while I figure out which replacement headlight I want.

Update: installed the auxbeam bulbs today. Light output isnt great but not bad either. Hardest part of the install was pulling off the grill and trim pieces. Color matches the SS3 pros quite well.

Yes, for the life of me I can't figure out how to release the tabs on the lower inside of the grille without breaking them. What a PITA those are. 2 of the 4 on my current grille are already broken off.

Have any of you guys running these Auxbeams noticed they are brighter with the truck off vs running.

i notice if I leave my lights on and shut the truck off they get a tad brighter. I’m just attributing that to the battery and alternator having to power everything else.

    thanks in advance

Anyone have the auxbeam link on Amazon a current link? I have a 2016. On this version the high beam and low beam is one bulb or 2 bulbs.
