Interesting. It's a 2009. I bought it used, but assumed it was the base model. Either way. Still bummed this thing doesn't have some reasonably basic features.

Nope. I'm going to be adding the feature though. Seems simple. Unfortunately the autoheadlight are far from a simple upgrade.

All cosmetic so far see my posts in 2nd gen Black out chrome in progress….
I’ve had my 2012 DC for a year now. The more I drive it the more I love it. Glad to hear the air recirc is a thing and I agree that it’s dumb. I live in the NW and lots of moisture is always an issue..... I don’t like my stereo either... it can Bluetooth as a phone or a music player but not at the same time..my solution is new head unit that is sitting on my workbench

My wife's is an S and doesn't have any of those. I fail to see the advantage of them, though, so it doesn't matter to me.

My only real dislike is the Amber LEDs on the dash and all of the controls! I know there’s a fix but I’ll live with em.

My ‘08 TRD OR doesn’t have a screen display or this option, but is this using the LCD display in the gauge cluster?

It's a toss up between the instrument cluster and the fricken annoying seat belt chime that goes turbo while I'm struggling to get it buckled.

The only thing I don't like about my 2007 is the lack of a keyed entry on the passenger door, everything else is totally acceptable.

I have the mpgs, miles to empty, instant mpgs on my '07 SR5. I usually don't like to look at any of the mpg info. It's too depressing.
I just don't understand why such a small V8 gets such terrible mileage. Last fill up yesterday was 14.9 mpgs! I've had a 5.7L Tahoe 4X4 that never got worse than 16 mpgs and that was when I really had my foot into it. Even my 7.3L diesel Excursion 2wd gets better mileage than my Tundra.

How long are you holding the button down. I had to do a slow count to 10 on my '07. My '14 is a slow count to 8.

I've been sitting here thinking about cons on the 2nd gen for the past 10 minutes and I really can't think of anything. I mean, sure there are some features I wished I had but for the price I paid given the features at that time, I really have nothing to gripe about.

I've done a slow count to 10 and sometimes longer. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. It's stupid to have to hold it so long. It's not something I need distracting me while driving. It should be just push the stupid button and not worry about it. Our Acura is on with one push and off with another.

My only real gripe is the nannies and rear limited slip. I really wish it was easier to turn off all of the nannies. Also the TPMS is annoying and I don’t want to spend money to fix it so I did the cheap fix with a piece of black tape.

Oh yeah I almost forgot the starter. It is a royal pain to replace. That’s an understatement.

I think the light steering kinda reminds me of driving a Big 3 product from the 80's. If you're old enough, you'll remember that you could steer with one finger. I wish the steering was a little heavier. That and getting used to the air blower fan. It seems like there's very little difference (there IS some) between the first and third setting but fourth finally kicks it up.

How many fan speeds do you have? 4? Or more? My wife's Corolla has 4 and it's like nothing, nothing, wind tunnel, hurricane. There's no happy medium.

One of my vent fins on the right of the instruments was dislocated when I got it. Luckily I was able to snap it back in place to have it line up with the rest of the fins. It's still loose but moves with the rest of them. They really seem flimsy.

I have 6. The first three there's not much of a difference. But when you hit 4 it begins to make itself noticed.

Not the biggest but I have experienced one of my vents (driver side, left vent) would not stay in position.

Oh I forgot about the rear passenger vents broke. Don't know how but I agree it is a poor design.

absolutely. i also added the feature. i had to run a wire to the back of the gauge cluster, but it was pretty simple. after my new radio arrives tomorrow, the only thing left to hunt for is a set of wheels. debating rock warrior wheels(cheap, light tires), vs some 3rd gen 18s(cheaper wheels, but heavy expensive tires).

You obviously haven't owned a Chevy or Dodge truck.

The last Ram I had only came with one factory-functional vent left, and it was only a few years older than my current Tundra.
