So I have this annoying creaking noise pulling in and out of the driveway. I found where it was coming from, now I'm at a loss on the fix. The rear 1/2 block walked out of position so I will have to fix that and retorque the ubolts. As far as for the leaf spring, it has a gap that is about 1/4 inch or so between the leafs. Here are pictures of the passenger side, and then the driver's side.

Springs look worn, with negative arch. You could replace with stock take offs for super cheap. Or maybe an add a leaf (remove the block) will tighten it up. Or, aftermarket 2 inch lifted leafs but those can get pricey.

It sucks because it is a 2020 with 12K miles.

That is surprising. Haul, tow much? Those blocks could have been a factor, they can accelerate wear on leafs.

I would say warranty repair, but they may not allow that since blocks were installed.

The blocks are 1/2 inch Toytecs and have been in there for a year. It's weird that it is just the driver's side. It has only towed a 3800 lb travel trailer with a WDH about 50 miles total, an Isuzu Rodeo on a car trailer after an accident, and a 4Runner home on a car trailer for about 40 miles after purchase. I still have my original ubolts and pins if I needed to remove the blocks for warranty, but I have Toytec shackles set on 1.5 as well.

I really think those blocks caused warp. I would be looking at new leaf packs, no blocks, that give you the height and load capacity you want.

Are there some that you recommend that will work with the Toytec shackles? Right now I am at 2 inches in the rear with the 1/2 block and the shackles set at 1.5.

There are other guys that have a better answer I think. Mine is a gen 1, I used medium Archives and am currently running Total Chaos drop shackles. You have a different spring set-up. Seems like the Gen 1 guys really like ATS to not break the bank and what you get. I'm not really sure for a Gen 2.5

    Edit: ATS springs

Thanks. I'll call Toytec on Monday and ask if they will work with my shock setup and their shackles.

These may be of help too. These were from a post earlier this week

See if any of these help below. Also Deaver and Alcan and build you leaf springs based on your needs- lift, capacity, etc. Icon, OME, have lifted leafs and I think Dobinsons and Elka offer them too. There are also add a leafs available to add to your current springs.

So I went out and messed with it again. I put a c-clamp on the spring just forward of the rear retainer, and no more creaking. I see online that there are leaf spring clamp kits, but I would assume that something like that would only be temporary.

Load those gaps up with grease and see if it stops creaking?

A few of us (myself included) in the first gen world have messed around with leaf spring clamps, I bought mine at Autozone. Most notably they helped with axle wrap and keeping the rear wheels planted. I've had mine on for about a year - you're right, they're more of a band-aid but they were an improvement for me.

They were cheap enough and easily available it might be worth trying in your situation. I do agree that your leafs look a little flat though.

You need new, proper leaf springs for your load and ride height preferences. Shitcan the blocks.

Yeah I'm just surprised that a 1/2 block did that.

You can't put grease in a 1/4 gap.
