i think he wins the off-road trophy out of most all forums. 1000miles/week in the dirt. week after week. F-ME.
might be easier to just replace the bilsteins as is. its going to get expensive rebuilding any shock that much.

You have to upload to YouTube and then link it. And you meant UP TO 200 miles a day with pavement and dirt mixed, right?

1000 miles a week so 52k a year - should be good with once a year rebuilds unless they start leaking. Think Curt LeDuc runs ADS on his race Truck - there is your one race team :p Think there are a few KOH trucks on ADS.
I run 25psi all the time off-road and seems like the sweet spot for me- any lower and you can bend a rim unless its sand. Try 35psi and see how it feels.

Which truck? He's had several. He doesn't even own one now, he's a hired gun. Drives other people trucks.

I couldn't agree more but I don't think the OP is racing his truck but is driving on rough dirt roads kind of like you come across in everyday Aussie outback road conditions.
ARB/OME engineers have historically proven that their suspensions do quite well on long daily commutes in similar conditions there and they do a lot of hands on R&D before putting out a new product. The OME BP series has some really decent reviews on Aussie 4X4 sites about how well they hold up over time. Of course it all depends on how severe the daily use is and at what speed. I've got HD OME coils so not worried at all about the extra weight I've got up front. Rides quite well actually off road.

I went with ADS 2.5's (650 pound spring) with triple bypasses up front and in rear from MCM. Deaver k37 leafs, but I don't haul/tow a lot. I also daily drive my truck. In the end you can't go wrong with the brand. Find a brand that you will get support from that's some what local for when you need to rebuild the shocks.

Zip tied resi for the bypasses were just temporary

Pick your favorite color and go with those. I've seen people say that on here many times and I think it is true. ICON, King, Ads and fox and all great products you can't go wrong with. I happened to like blue at the time ;)

Never said it was Curt driving, even the video says Kyle. But its Curts truck, and the class 8 you posted is not the same truck. The truck I posted is a Geiser Chassis that Curt finished out. And I can guarantee you it has ADS shocks on the TT. I am very familiar with the class 8 truck, Macrae Glass is my moms chiropractor. There is a few Vegas Local teams running full ADS shock packages on their 6100 trucks as well.

I’ll say this. I’ve said three sets of icons on 3 different trucks. They ride rather stiff on the road but off-road IMO can’t be beat. If this truck isn’t a daily driver and for mostly off-road look no further than icon. King rides a bit softer. But honestly I’d look for a fox setup if you don’t plan to beat it up.

That being said icon does have adjustable suspensions now with easy click adjustments but those start at around 5000

I have a 2019 pro and this fox suspension is the best on road quality I’ve had to date. I haven’t tested it off-road which I’m sure it’s not the best but damn is it a dreamy ride. If you don’t know a lot about suspension you need to know a lot of them can make the ride on road pretty rough

No, but I sure wouldn't go down to 25 psi on dirt/gravel roads. Off road is a different situation.

    @Acrotalus

Ok I’m everyone let’s just calm down... here we go

Icon is awesome for your purpose but w the front end weight the coil over spring will be too soft. So I think icon is out but @KevinK may shed some light he’s our resident icon expert

That leaves you w king , fox and ads

Ads is some times slow to get and occasionally have issues. No offense to them they make great stuff but If it were my money I would go fox or king

Now for you a 3.0 w 700lb spring is ideal. If you can swing the $ buy clickers so you can soften the ride on dirt easily and from up for freeway.

Uca’s Are a must, do not buy add a leafs... replace the pack w either icon pack or deaver u748’s period no argument or discussion

For the rears do 2.5 shocks w resi.

As SDHQ said lower your pressure to 35. 50 is way to much.

Any further questions let me know

Why not? I run 32-35 on the street and 25 isn't much lower. Have been running 22-25 on the Tundra off-road for over 8yrs without an issue. In the sand I run 18-20 if needed.

    To help the OP.

Your tire choice will be just as important as shock choice. I have had people change tires and come in thinking their shocks are bad. Cooper tires are some of the worst riding tires I have experience. Toyo or Nitto have always had the best ride quality in my experience. You tire pressure will also have a dramatic effect. Had one customer who had some shackles installed, the shop checked his tire pressure and put too much pressure in, he spent a long time thinking the shackles killed his ride quality. I run my load range D 37s at the door pressure, when I was on load range E 35s, I ran it a little less than the door sticker.

A 3.0 shock would probably benefit your use, the bigger shock with extra oil may help give you a longer service life. A bypass rear shock will also help your situation alot.

I agree 25 is nice on other tires. I think based on his size it might compromise the tire for long drives. He could upgrade tire size to 35’s and then go to like 25-28 psi and be very happy.

This is 112% correct ... good call Matt! 3.0’s for sure and better tires make the world of difference

Chalk test also means little to nothing in off road situations. Off pavement means off road. Doesn't matter what kind of off-road. Running a lower air pressure than door pressure will gain traction and help with the ride quality.

Depends on tire and road conditions. 32 is too low for my current E tires for DD. If I'm playing around up in the mountains for a few days I'll air down and I'll air down if we get extended heavy snow here. I used to air down my Armstrong Tru Tracs to 10 when playing in the sand dunes near Winchester Bay, Oregon in the mid 70's for example so I do have some experience when it comes to my tires that I've run over the years and what is best for my setup. Like I said it really comes down to type/rating of tire and what your are doing with it.

Obviously. I'll agree to disagree that off pavement means off road. I don't consider traveling daily commutes on dirt or gravel roads as off roading. I driven lots of miles on dirt/gravel roads in cars and trucks over the years and never found the need to spend a small fortune on a suspension upgrade. OP's situation clearly calls for such an upgrade of course. :spending:
