Hoping for input from anyone who may have installed this in their CrewMax. I have 6-3/4" which fit fine and work ok, but would like to move larger if possible.

Puts out a hell of a lot of bass and you can definitely feel it - if that's what you want. Also a bass controller for when my head gets numb.

I am just a little bit lazy, and did not want to move the jack and other stuff behind the seat, so am trying to live with something that just moves/affects the driver side half of the back panel. The 6-3/4" kicker works OK, but I was hoping the 8" would fit without messing with the rest of the back (rubber mat/jack/etc).

    1. Will the Kicker CompRT 43CWRT81 fit behind the seat? Crutchfield could not/would not tell me it could. That seems to me to be the best, most economical addition to a CrewMax. Just looked at the speaker (only-not the box too) online. Unfortunately mine is not a JBL system. Need to add a box. Either a Fox box or some other, or the Kicker 8" box (if it fits).

Thank you Windsor. I think the fit is really close, which is why Crutchfield would not commit. I would try the 8" if someone close in generation says it is ok. I have the 6-3/4" CompRT and it works ok. I just don't really want to be a guinea pig. May try anyway. Just hoping.

Thank you for your reply. I think 2008 is generation 2, which may make a difference. I sort of have faith in Crutchfield..... if they do not say “ok” or “sure” then i am back to contemplating my navel.

See if carman chimes in on the fit. But you will most likely be looking at a wedge or OE JBL box for best fit.

Thanks.i was curious about why you linked carman. I have tried two smallish subwoofers for behind the CrewMax back seat. First did not fit. kicker 6-3/4 is fine wondering about Kicker 8”. Will try to look up the one that did not work.

Kenwood-WBOX100 is the one that does NOT fit my truck. It is very close, but hits a cross bar and or a seat back strut (at least where I tried to mount it)

This fits like a glove behind the back seat (driver’s side) of the 2016. The all in one setup made installation a breeze.

There should be a passive radiator that you can get that matches the kicker 6.75 sub.

Its basically like having a ported enclosure but doesn't take up any extra space. It would make a really big difference in output.

Its a good option to consider.

The one on the right is the passive radiator.

Thanks for suggestions. Kind of decided to quit messing with sound until Spring.

Thanks for recommendation. I followed your advice and installed one this weekend. It sounds Awesome. The factory sub has a magnet the size of a prune and the cone can barely move. It’s crap. The kicker has a magnet the size of a melon and moves easily and a lot.
