Yea I thought I might have to do that. But hoping someone had the same issues and knew a fix.

We can give you a best guess and tips but it comes down to actually towing it and feeling what it does. If your getting sway then most likely its your weight distribution.

Ohh got it so drop a link on chain will lower the front of the camper and put more on the rear axle or need more weight in the front.

Try this -drop hitch down one bolt hole to give trailer just a slight angle. Put you chains on the third link to put more weight on your front end. Always run Tire air pressure at what tire says on side wall when towing .
Use friction sway control on Highway I run mine tight with no issues.
Your set up is real close to mine I’m 5400 dry and that’s what I run. Good Luck

Well there’s your problem. 1000 lb bars is close to what I have for my 14k lb equipment hauler.

Remove bars, keep sway control hooked up, go for a test drive. Bet you don’t have sway.

When you get back, we can discuss where to go next.

Might need more psi in front tires. The side walls says 80 psi. Nitto tires says 40 in all 4 and the tire shop say 50-50 in rear and 40-45 in front. Lol.

Copy. The wind here is blowing like hell right now. When it dies down I will try it. I know I will be having to drive in windy conditions but want to start with my 1st problem and then work my way to other issues. The service guy did say the hitch was over kill. But I will let you know. I have about 2 weeks to get it worked out going to Tennessee 1st weekend in December. Next week we are going but 2 lane road and speeds 45-50. Thanks.

Change of plans. Going to finish loading up the camper and check all PSI in tires and take it out. Wind or no wind what to see how it works. So keep checking back I let y’all know what I come up with. Thanks!!!

Those bars are for loads like this.

    This was around 14k.

You need 5-600 lb bars. I hate when RV centers do this to people.

Please educate me I can see those bars making a trailer Bounce but not making it sway. After the wife loads my camper my dry hitch weight always is 2-3 hounded more than dry weight.
I like to learn something new please advise

Oh FYI the load now is setting on the timbers and the chains with me dropping a link is not as tight as it was set up the last time. If that helps any.

All right. Usually with to much load distribution one will get a very harsh ride. You can also get sway from this harshness. Think of it like this, if your hitch is the pivot point, and this point is not allowed to use the trucks suspension, this can cause sway. The hitch of the trailer can actually be forced up a bit.

    https://www.etrailer.com/question-254671.html

Every trailer is different. To be honest, my camper is a pain in the ass to tow without an ATV or something in the front of the toy hauler section. This just flat out sucks. When we travel, everything is stored in the front to get that added weight.

You need a bigger camper to go with that WD hitch. Sorry not helpful but I hope you get it figured out before your trip.

Will do. Here now. They are going to weight the camper. Try 600lbs bars and maybe drop a bolt hole. Thanks!

It’s better but not 100%. Rear of my truck is swaying some. The tech is going to look into it. Ideas?

Ok we done. Still does it. Pumped up tire drop links went up in a link and ass end stills move on my truck. Aftermarket sway bar?

Happy Thanksgivings!! Just finished with towing. See what you think when you have time. Ok 50psi in front and 75 in rear of the truck. The best I got is 60-65 mph with min sway. Just high winds pushed the hole unit. When loaded the front was 45 1/8 and rear was 43 1/5. My son measurement the top of the tire to fender besides ground to the top of the fender. Top of the hitch was 21 1/2. Had a 1/2-7/8 nosed down on the trailer. 4 links hanging on a 600 lbs bars. With antic sway bar on. With it off on the interstate was bad 2 lane roads good at 55. They had it set up with 5 links hanging and the nose of the camper was 1inch. 50-50mph was rough. The bars was really maxed out with the 5 links hanging but leveled my truck but like I said it nosed up an 1 inch in the front. So I am think about still going tomorrow and have them drop a bolt hole so I can level out the truck and still have a nose pitched down??? Stay with 600,800or 1000 bars?? Or just call it a day and leave it?? And stay at PSI on tires?? Thanks again for the help!!

With that set up I posted above my timbens are about 1/4 to 3/4 from touching. Do they need to?

Fixed! 1/4 high in the front on truck and 1/4-1/2 nose down on the trailer. Went with 800lbs bars. 65mph no sway just head wind pushing the truck and camper.

Dropped bolt hole on the hitch. 600 had way to much bow in the 1000 gave a sway and could not get close to level and 800 worked great. Could tell a BIG difference so as we pulled on the interstate. Still fine tuning it on how many links be better. 3 or 4 hanging
