This one is a little more steeper with higher steps.

Took the family camping at Little Beaver near La Porte. Wife, two daughters, and niece. Yup, 4 girls and me.

Need more bed space. Had to leave the inflatable boat and water jugs.

Went to the nearest town to get some gas before wheeling. There was only one store/gas station in the entire town. And no super unleaded nor diesel. :notsure:

So on the way to the campground my crazy navigation put me on about an hour of unnamed dirt roads. A couple of spots were basically impassable without 4wd.

Corral Hollow with @dcsleeper408, @16tunterd, @GodlessPro and 3 other Toyota buddies. Had a great time on a tight and challenging trail. Even had a couple of difficult technical spots. We all got a few light pinstripes including Matt on his brand new Cement Pro... but took it like a champ. And Warren was just all smiles all day.

Found a 2 story cabin with beds and stocked with water, stove and firewood. This cabin would save a life if a Ford or Dodge were to ever break down there in the winter.

What you don't see is the front bumper an inch away from another tree.

Basically drove through a forest not meant for full size trucks. It was pretty awesome.

The first video gives a good idea of how tight the trail was, constant weaving between trees.

Good news Matthew, washed my truck and the pinstriping is really minimal. Nothing on the drivers side and I can buff out what there is on the passengers.

That's really good news. Based upon the nails on a chalkboard noises I was hearing, I've come to terms with the fact that there is going to be something under all the dirt. I'll let you guys know what I find once I wash it.

Thanks for all the vids and pics Joon! I guess we'll never know if you got any pin stripes. :D
I really like the sound in the first vid. Sounds like you were a little relieved after clearing the tree without incident.

LOL... I don't make sounds because I'm relieved to clear a tree! It was from the truck tilting sideways and me catching my breath after it straightened out.

9-17 (Have since broke the stubby and replaced with a 13" Flexible antenna)
Stubby antenna is on. I've actually noticed a slight drop in reception, but I'm going to try to tolerate it. Absolutely love not whacking every bush out on the trails.

Which one did you go with? I've tried two, one was horrible, and the other (that i have installed still) is very close to stock, but still loses HD radio more than the stock antennae does.

    The one everyone's getting.
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/a-stubby-antenna-that-works.13706/#post-261075

Update: Definitely lost some reception. Once I get into the boonies, can’t even listen to the radio anymore.

Poker Flat Trail with @dcsleeper408, @GodlessPro, @Lucas7154350, and 2 other Toyotas. We climbed to the peak and checked out Saddleback Lookout with some amazing views. Dropped back down to the bottom of Poker Flat and crossed a small stream. Then back up a very rocky climb where we had to pull a 2wd Tacoma about 2 miles back up and out of the valley floor. Really fun trail, I loved the steep, rocky, challenging climb the best.

Drilled through the bed, with stainless steel bolts and nuts and a fat washer underneath. If you have Line-x, you may lose your lifetime warranty though for drilling through it. Also added rubber furniture feet so the can wouldn't rattle when it's empty.

I like that idea. I have 2 plastic 6 gallon water containers that are a pain sometimes securing. I think their footprint is the same as a Jerry can...hmmmm....

Where did you take them for powdercoating? How is the coating holding up? Are you still loving these sliders?

Had my sliders coated at Leon's in Oakland, it cost $160. They're already all scraped up underneath but the top half looks perfect. The SDHQ's have the strongest mounts up front but my only complaint is they're about 6" too short on the rear. But I still love them, I'm sure it's already saved me from some body damage.

Put on an RCI gas tank skid plate. The plastic TRD Offroad skid was taking some abuse and was just a matter of time before I punctured through it. Just can’t understand why they don’t include one sheet of paper with some instructions. Turns a quick 45 minute install into a 2.5 hour workout. OP updated.

No, but I almost did. It’s such an easy install but without any instructions, you have to go under and test fit multiple times just to figure out which way the brackets attach and where the bolts and washers go. I can literally install in 30 minutes now that I know what to do. My 3rd RCI skid and none of them came with instructions. So frustrating. Not sure if the 38 gallon is any different though.

Yup. :( Just had a torn CV axle boot replaced too. The rest of the crew all have sliders coming so as soon as they get them on, we’ll be back out there. Hopefully in a couple of weeks. I wish I had the balls to go out there on my own... but I don’t.
