First thing I bought was a retractable tonneau and some nerf bars for the wife and kids. The bars were supposed to be temporary so I just bought the cheapest ones I could find. But somehow they're still on my truck...still waiting for the perfect sliders.

haha..the thing is I don't need wheels (already have Methods) but the deal is so good I'm trying to find excuse to get some new wheels. glad it worked out good for you.

Boss. Yeah, the maxpiders are awesome. All of us who have them, love them. Only problem, I don't think they're full coverage under the back seats on a crewmax.

 

Round one of mods completed. Now time to just enjoy the truck for the summer.

Pop & Lock
One of the cheapest and easiest mods but definitely one of my favorites. Never need to use the key to lock and unlock the tailgate anymore. And probably the best tailgate theft prevention device possible. One thing though, if you follow the instructions or the YouTube videos, it tells you to make the connection to the two wires inside the tailgate. If you do that, the wire will be short and won't reach. So instead, run the first wire out of the tailgate and make the connection under the bed.

Hey Joon thanks for supporting the ones that protect US !

 

I've been wanting to do the pop lock. Does it lock/unlock reliably? I read some stuff that they aren't reliable.

 

I've only had it on for a couple of months now but has worked flawlessly so far. It's a little loud and some people put in sound deadening material around it. But I think everyone needs to get this, it's an absolute must.

 

Id like to know more info on the pop lock as well.

Rear Breather Diff Mod.

Submerged the Diff a few times crossing rivers... so far so good.

 

It's an actuator that you attach to your tailgate lock. Literally attaches by one bolt and it's on. Then you run the wire under your truck, into engine bay, through to the cab and splice 2 wires and you're done. Now your tailgate locks and unlocks with your remote. Pure awesomeness. And looks like it's on sale right now.

If everything goes right, should take 30-60 minutes. They sent me the wrong wire and I basically had to start all over once I realized the wire didn't reach. So make sure you lay out the wire first to make sure you have the correct length before zip tieing it all down.

Blacked out the inside of the hood bulge with vinyl. I thought of this about a year ago when I dipped my emblem but was too lazy to try to dip it. Finally found someone to make the vinyl for me.


But in direct sunlight, the dark grey grille was way lighter than the hood bulge.

And so I had to dip the grill to match the hood bulge and emblem. Will paint it if the dip ever peels. (Have since replaced the insert with a Pro Grille Insert.)
