While under the truck I snapped a pic of my sliders. I think they may need to be touched up a little bit.

Those tabs are really thin. Mine didn't break, they just bent and flattened.

The TC parts look to be adding more material in addition to the bars on the side. Do you think that is a big deal or is the majority of the benefit the bars?

Yeah, I would just get a 1/4" square bar and weld it right behind the stock tabs like in the pic I posted earlier.

Maybe just a little! This is why you don't waste money on powder coating sliders. Unless of course you're a fkn poser! :D

Are you talking about the weld behind the bars? I'm sure they'll strengthen them some, but it's probably more to weld them in place.

I would just weld 'em like @n2deep did if I had it to do over. When I welded the new tabs in I welded around the entire gusset, the thought being that I'm trying to reinforce the entire mounting tab and not just the alignment tab.:notsure:

Comparing your pictures side by side, in addition to the bars, it looks like the TC parts are bigger.

Yes, they're thicker. In the video I watched they welded all the way around.

 I actually had the sliders PC’d. I got them done for $160. I think that was actually worth it on these because they’re heavy AF and would not have been fun trying to rattle can them. And the top side of them still look brand new. But any other armor I’m painting them from now on. Just finished my diff skid.

They're definitely beefier in every way. And they'll definitely be stronger than adding support to the factory tabs. But I just think welding a piece behind the stock tabs will be good enough and will take 5% of the effort. If that fails, then you can always do the TC tabs.

LCA's still gotta be removed to do the bead behind the oem tabs.
other than that the TC ones are beefy!

Look no bolts on the bottom of the frame and the sliders hold up your truck! Do you think bolts on the bottom frame are needed for proper sliders?

Bolts on the bottom side just create another catch point as well as if you ever have to remove them, imagine getting a socket on those bad boys. Our sliders clasp pinch the inside of the frame rail as well as through bolt on the sides with a reinforcement puck on the inside. Glad you are out there abusing those things Joon!

Removing the LCA was the easy part. It's removing the old tabs that's a bitch. After I finish the other side, I will never ever do it again. Matt, bring your truck over and we'll try welding on some bars behind the stock tabs. Then we'll see how they do. I'm 90% sure they'll be atleast 70% as strong as the TC tabs and there's a 85% chance they will hold up 98% of your wheeling. :D

    yeah just saying.
If you take it to a shop, they would charge you almost the same just to remove the LCA and run a bead behind oem vs the TC+LCA removal.

Not if they mount like SDHQ's ingenious mounting system. Even the other sliders that don't bolt through the bottom all can hold the weight of the truck. (P&P, All Pro) For our Norcal terrain, bolts on the bottom aren't acceptable to me. It might be ok for a couple of years but it'll eventually become an issue.

More like a couple of minutes before the bolts are so effed up you're cutting 'em to remove 'em. 1 trip to Buck Lake and you're never getting 'em off.
