WTF! Joon that sucks! As Vizsla says "snug it up" and enjoy! You may as well drive right out to SDHQ and have them take care of the issue first hand...

Soft Topper is @831Tun . Came home early to escort a station wagon who also blew his front shocks. The black Pro is @TRD15559. Mark, and the rest of the convoy showed up later that evening. Right now, Joon traded his truck to ride a burro up and down the trails. More reliable ride.

We talked about it. I think we were only 80 mi. from Vegas but it was the weekend and we figured he'd be closed. We talked about driving to SDHQ too we were 3 hrs away from them.

Before I get to the Death Valley Trip, let me start by saying I’m completely and utterly disappointed in the Icons. Just been nothing but problems so far.

First, I’ve already had to remove the rear bypasses and send back because they were rubbing on my brakes. How do you sell a rear shock without testing to make sure they don't rub the brakes??? Completely unacceptable. Adrian took care of me pretty well but that shouldn’t have ever happened in the first place.

Second, I can’t get a decent alignment and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s the Icon tubular UCAs. I'm basically seeing everyone with Icon Tubular UCA's running into the exact same alignment issues. And so my only solution is to cut the inner tie rods? That would’ve been nice to know before I bought it. I would’ve went with another brand, instead of expecting Icon Arms to work properly with Icon shocks. I still haven’t decided what I’m going to do with this one yet.

And now... the fronts are leaking. And it wasn’t some fluke where one side broke. Both sides were blown by the end of the trip. The driver’s side didn’t even make it through the first trail on the first day. It was a rough trail and we were hitting it pretty fast, but nothing this suspension shouldn't have been able to handle. All 4 other tundras made it through just fine going the same speed I was over the same terrain. Two of those tundras were on ADS and the other two were on stock Pro Suspensions. Are you telling me Icon 3.0’s can’t keep up with a Stock Pro Suspension? And the passenger side also started leaking with me limping around driving 10mph on completely easy trails.

So, swapping out the rears was easy enough to do myself. But I just don't have the space to do the fronts and keep my truck on stands for a couple of weeks. I have no idea how I'm going to get these off to send in. I think I've been fairly accepting and patient thus far, but my patience is really starting to run thin. I don't get a chance to take a few days off of work to go on a wheeling trip to the desert too often. This one was completely ruined for me and it sucked that the rest of the crew had to keep waiting for me to catch up. @sdhq_offroad ? @Icon_Adrian ?

First off Joon, you were a great sport about the whole thing out there on the trail. I know you were VERY disappointed and barely let it show. No frickin' whining here.
Second, I'll be the first to admit that I don't know squat but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that I need to cut my inner tie rods to get proper alignment,,,,,, WTF? Why aren't the UCAs a little longer? And for our trucks I personally don't think 2*-2.3* of caster isn't enough. I got the Icon UCAs for the Delta Joint which seems to perform really well and hasn't been an issue. It's just my opinion but I think the UCA geometry is all wrong and cutting the inner tie rod is someones brilliant idea to cover up a MAJOR pre production FU.
As always Joon, a pleasure wheeling with ya!

I should add that as soon as Matt has some UCAs available, I'm pulling the Icons and installing MCM ucas. I'm not cutting my inners.

I think it's just the resi's that are leaking, maybe they can send him some cans and he just replace those w/o pulling the entire c/o? They'd still need fluid and nitrogen though.

I’d be willing to bet there is wasn’t enough R&D spent on these and they were rushed out. I was thinking of icon for their UCA’s. That idea is scrapped.

I'm thinking the 3.0 system been rushed out of the door quickly and you are doing QC for Icon.
Personally I stick to proven suspension components: KING and Total Chaos .
I haven't seen anyone complain on the forums about the TC UCAs and I'm very happy with them. No issues with alignments. I see issues with Camburg and Icons mostly
    The MCM look promising too.
I say try the TC arms first and see if everything line up better. Sorry you had to be the guinea pig for Icon.

I completely agree with you Warren, Joon kept a positive attitude. He was still excited about finishing the trip even though he had to go slow.

But I demand reparations from Icon since I had to wait for Joon to catch up.

I'm glad i didn't buy them. I don't have patience especially after that amount of money. I don't see any responses from any vendors either. But, they are quick to push products. That's a damn shame.

Well, to be fair, I just told @Icon_Adrian about the leak. So far, he has been nothing but good to me. I might be disappointed in the product but Customer Service from Icon has been great.

TC would be a great choice too. With MCM I'll get a little more caster but less than Camburg. @dcsleeper408 is running 'em and I like his #s
