Electricity may seem cheapish now but if people switch over to a large percentage of EV's then the game changes. If EV's become more popular then they will probably raise taxes on gas. Federal, state and local pay for around 30%(?) of road spending in the US. That money will have to come from somewhere. Also remember we seem to be in an age where there are more and more severe droughts. Some lakes that hold water for dams are at historic lows. Then there is the joy of paying for new batteries. Yeah, to me it just seems like a scam.

California is supposed to be the climate change leader pushing EV. Edison charges .33 cents per kwh that's not even the high usage charge or peak hour charge. My solar ppa plan is .11 cents per kwh, still higher than texas lol. BTW, Ca can't even keep the power on reliably anymore.

Maybe. The refineries can shift production towards one product or another with their existing facilities or focus their new capital investments one making one particular product. We have a refinery here that only products diesel and sells off all their other intermediate streams to other refineries.

Of course California is the climate change leader. They wasted who knows how much water building cities in the deserts, pumping oil and now want to burn fossil fuels to make electricity as well. That has to change the climate.

I'm not following what this has to do with EVs.

Hydropower is a relatively clean and cheap form of renewable energy. From the Manhattan Project to Data Centers to consumer hydropower has been an asset for some areas.

In a time where it seems like we use more and more electricity I am not sure where we are expecting cheap electricity to come from for our cars.

Electric, why stop there,I have a better idea and cleaner idea that uses no power at all. Put a panel on the floor by the drivers side, lift the panel and move the truck with your feet, you can have all panels in the floor do if you have four people all of them can use there feet, instead of hourse power you can convert to people power . The flint stones seen this coming a long time ago

I’m all for it. Overtime now is nuts- can’t imagine 10 years. Bring on the grid modernization. I will be able to get the next Tundra Pro as well. The more we consume, the more I realize how lucky I am to do what I do for a living.

There is a lot of truth to that! Being in the electrical generation industry has a promising future it seems! I’ll be done with my apprenticeship in about 6 more months I can’t wait.

Congrats man. Biggest piece of advice is to not take on too much debt.

You will make a lot of money. Put down payments so if you want a 60k truck you only finance half or less.

So when the OT dries up or you take time away from work, your bills are manageable.

There are guys here that if they don’t do do 2 nights every week, they can’t pay their bills.
