Just a note: The TRD Off Road package was a Zero dollar option on my 2018 1794 4X4.

    This- yes.

You could do $10k in great mods and never get a dime back on resale. The dealer/factory upgrade makes it magically official. Wrong or right, it just ‘is’.

My TRD OR package got me as pictured:

On the higher trim levels, such as 1794 there is no additional cost or very minor cost since the upgrades are already part of that trim level. On a base SR5 they have to add the SR5 upgrade package (all those items are already included with the 1794) and then the TRD package change steel wheels for alloy wheels, but on the 1794 you already have alloys, so there is no added cost. etc....
So, SR5 TRD is a more expensive upgrade than Limited or 1794 TRD upgrade.

I would say after re-reading my sticker again, the upgrade is worth it (yet more expensive) on the SR5 than the higher trim levels.

As sold to me, without the OR package, I would have needed to buy wheels and tires, skid plates, led headlights, led fog lights, and rubber floor mats. And it would be my labor or a shop to install the upgraded stuff.

And I still wouldn’t have the rad decals on the bed.

I agree. I compared the same - SR5 with aftermarket mods or just buy the TRD Sport. I was set on the chrome delete, which is covered by the Sport package - that was my first priority. And then it came with all the other goodies such as LED lights, 38 gal tank etc. It was worth it for me.

Since I don’t plan on changing my wheels I’m happy with the TRD package, as it gave it the look I wanted. I also have a column shifter and a bench seat with no sunroof LOL and I like it that way!

My TRD Limited isn't the premium. I presume you mean platinum? Or maybe I'm not familiar with the other. Either way, mine has a moon roof and I was actually negotiating on another limited that DIDN'T have one because I don't find them enjoyable...until a few days ago when I dropped all windows including the back glass and with the moon roof open it was like driving a jeep.

Moon roof is a $850 option regardless of Limited or Limited Premium. Without looking I can't remember what the Limited Premium comes with (maybe has moon roof included) but a Limited Premium is only about roughly $2k less than a Platinum or 1794 equally equipped.

    This /\ is correct.

The TRD OR package just gets you the bed stickers, a crappy skid plate and the Bilstein 4600 shocks and different wheels. I have the OR package and have replaced everything it came with except for the sticker.

On my 2018 the TRD package came on all of the units I wanted because I wanted a highly optioned SR5 with the (I think it was called) safety convenience package. If you were really pinching pennies and trying to squeeze budget to get into a Tundra, probably not worth the extra ~$2500. I ended up putting tires wheels and better suspension on so the package was only good for the beer can skid plate and bedside stickers in my case. Those are some expensive stickers! :D

I think this is because you got the limited premium package. Same deal on mine. I believe I had to get the LPP in order to get the best color, cement gray. From there, it was an additional $70 to get the TuRD OR package. I wanted this option so I didnt have to drive around with the ugly 20" wheels.

There is yet another LPP that adds the giant hole in the roof that makes your truck hotter in the summer. So glad I was able to find a truck without that leak waiting to happen.

ETA: your best bet is to study the packages and options on the yota website and make your own call as to whether or not it's worth it for you. The factory offroad equipment is not real "offroad" equipment that will prep your vehicle for rock crawling, mud bogging, etc.
