He’s either very stupid or he’s blatantly lying about that and isn’t worth buying from. What else is he lying about? Hard pass IMO.

Here are the pics it was suggested i post. Thanks! I thought it would add to the value a bit but also im questioning his honesty. The truck has some damage but i think its still a really great price. Ive been waiting for him to send me the vin number since last night, im supposed to pick it up after work.

I would venture to say it is most definitely not a TRD. The wheels, I'm not sure they made a TRD bench seat (they might have, don't crucify me).

No matter what, what happened to the rear bumper?

Not an expert on 2nd gens but I think those are non TRD wheels. Is the rear bumper smashed in? Definitely get the truck looked at and be sure the frame isn't damaged.

I had a '14 (gen 3 -- I realize this is gen2...) that was a TRD OR with a bench (although I thought it was pretty rare) they do exist! @Sephon

Steel wheels or flag for me, why would he put them on there? And yes the rear bumper damage needs to be inspected by a body shop for frame damage.

That looks like a base SR 2WD. No 4WD, you have a coin cup instead of 4WD switch. The Steelies are usually on base, but could have been swapped.
It looks like it was rear ended, I would definitely have it checked. I got hit pretty hard but it wasn't near that bad and still had to have about $6000 in repairs, other guys insurance paid.

    Function before sparkle.
On a used 2014 with decent mileage there are only two reasons why at TRD package would be desirable today:
    1. Skid plates
    2. Wheels

Suspension was different, but depending on mileage it probably needs replacing anyways. Stickers are a whatever.

Based on the picture above, it doesn't matter if it started as a TRD. It's not one today simply because of the wheels.

Seriously. If he told you he took TRD stickers off I wouldn’t trust another word he said and would question his motives for selling the truck. Get it checked by a reputable mechanic at the very least if you decide to move forward.

Have him send a picture of the gas tank, TRD OR's have a fuel tank skid. Last time I checked, it was a couple hundred dollars to buy the TRD OR skid, and it is much cheaper to buy an aftermarket that is steel so I doubt anyone would buy the OEM plastic. If it doesn't have the gas tank skid I'd say it's not a TRD OR.

A few months after buying my 18 Sport I removed the TRD Sport decals. I wasn't a fan of how they looked.

Run!!!!!! Unless he paid for the TRD package, stripped all of it off the truck, sold it, then bought the base model rims and trim that for sure is not a TRD off-road truck. That is a base model 2wd SR.

For what it's worth, my VIN doesn't show any of that, and it's a TRD. Looks like someone didn't enter the right info:

Have you checked values on NADA or KBB?
    $25k seems high.

I'm not saying it is unheard of to remove the decals. I'm saying this truck 100% wasn't a TRD, and if the owner said it is a TRD and that he just took the stickers off than he is lying about that and possibly other things.
