Hell, growing up in the VA Mtns, the bed was where the dogs would ride.

 

Didnt notice the dog, I thought somebody else was bothered by what the Cherokee has become.

 

Hi all! I love a dog riding shotgun...BUT after blowing my airbags...No way! Slow moving accident hit right on sensors and hard braking blew them all. After seeing that, my dog is in a cage I modified from a wire crate. Stole a baby seat anchor from a baby car seat (adjustable) that she uses as a seatbelt hooked to her harness. When we train she either uses the crate in the bed or the cage in the back seat!

 

I let my dog drive.

No troubles so far ...

Edit: But only on country roads, of course.

That’s exactly what I did with the camera. Kept my eyes facing forward and just kind of point and shot with the camera. Without taking my eyes off the road.

My thoughts were definitely strayed. I was thinking to myself, I’m going to take a picture of this and make a post on Tundras.com. Same thing happens to my focus if I see a cute girl or a nice truck. Or even a squirrel. I’m a total hypocrite.

 

Should be a law like talking and texting on cell phones

And I’m not a 10 and 4 type of dude unless I’m trying to be very focused like at the dragstrip. And even then it’s a 9 and 3. Most the time I’m more of a 9 and 5!type of dude.

As a motorcycle rider I can tell you being on your phone is just as dangerous, both wrong.

 

Except I wasn’t really on my phone. I was looking forward. Grab the phone and ended in the general direction. But I get it. I’m not the type that sits there and plays on his phone while he’s driving down the road. At the most it’s only to look at navigation. And I watch out for riders. I’m that one guy at a stoplight who moves over for you so you can squeeze to the front.Same thing in the carpool lane, I hug the wall when I see you coming to give you extra space.

 

I hate it for a number of reasons. It's irresponsible as a driver and irresponsible as a pet owner. You can't use a cell phone while driving, which I agree with, but the number of other things you can legally do while driving is mind-numbing.....this being one of them.

 

This bothers me.

I see animals in the drivers seat far too often, but with the addition of the cellphone in one hand and a latte-fuckka-chino-douchebag in the other hand.

These people are complete idiots.

IF people love their pets so much, why not securely transport them... Like the law requires.

And to any owner of a pet that thinks this is ok, you know who you are, please stop doing this too.

 

This is what i have for my dogs.plugs right into seatbelt

 

Do you just hook that to their collar or do you put them in a harness as well?

 

Works best with a choker chain, that way if you get in an accident it gets tighter and holds the dog in place better.

 

I was afraid that the rest of their body would go flying forward except for their head that is attached to the seatbelt. Still better than them ending up out the windshield

My dog rides in the back or passenger seat. They are basically in seatbelts wherever they sit but I never let her get in the drivers space for safety. I also use my cell phone while driving but usually limit my use to talking over Bluetooth or choosing music. Hardly ever texting.

 

Cell phone use......illegal to touch your phone while driving yet I can fuck with an 11 inch multimedia display to my heart's content.

 

These should only be used with body harnesses otherwise you’ll break the dogs neck.
