I supervised a gas plant build in Vidor Texas. Wrote a guy up for not working and he threatened to snipe me from the surrounding woods. Something about "lots of hunting accidents happen down here". That got my attention. Interesting place.

Good lord. My uncle was a Statie for 25 years and is currently a Marshal. Have newspaper clippings somewhere of his cruiser with the entire top missing, Smokey and the Bandit style. Was mid-pursuit and an 18 wheeler pulled out in front of him, he had enough time to duck thankfully but went under the trailer. That dudes got some friggin stories.

The stories tend to add up, even if you have zero interest in having stories.

I don't think I've ever heard "Bless his heart" when referring to a Raccoon.

Well shit, already got something else for this thread. Apparently an owl has flown into the front glass for the conference center. Local bird of prey center has been called.

Glad its getting taken care of. Poor thing, prob has the worst headache ever from the glass.
I had to box a cock up (no, really) to bring to his new home after finding him abandoned last week at one of our valve sites in the middle of nowhere. Sang “got my cock in a BOX!” The whole way there. Poor birbs.

This reminds me of when I was walking through the halls of where I work (Army post, with a LOT of officers) a few years back, during a conversation with a female officer:

Me: *talking to female officer* "I have to say....NICE snatch this morning!"
Her: "Thanks! Yeah it was pretty hard but I got it up!"
    Officers: :eek::mad::confused:
Her: *looking at fellow officers* "CrossFit, guys."

Safety classes snapped at the bridge and cut the shit out of my eye (green area is injury).
Followed up with 3m to let them know what happened and after an “extensive investigation” they let me know that model had been discontinued 8 months ago and offered me a free pair of safety glasses. It was mildly traumatizing but healed up fine.
We no longer use 3m safety glasses.

When I was stationes in NAF El Centro, we had some interesting squadrons and characters. For example these were the Canadian Air Force (CAF) pilots. They were driving by the hangars late at night and were lost trying to make it to their barracks. Since they saw flat lands directly to the west of them, where the barracks were, they decided to cut straight across. They made it about 20 feet and literally hit a snag that they couldn't get out of. Commanding Officer had an interesting take about making it our new mascot, or something. Got other sea stories, more of the CAF guys flying, and 8 British guys asking the Sheriff for a ride in the back seat at a Jack in the Box..

    P1010019.jpg

    P1010018.jpg
This picture the Commanding officer saw this from his window, enjoyed the circus.

We had a guy at work who had a fairly long commute so he bought a smart car and told us that he was saving a lot of money in gas . A couple months later he was on his way in and smelled something burning so he pulled over on the road leading to our front gate and got out to look .E107035E-8807-4F8F-B2E3-95A8421B31C2.jpg235C4828-2946-4D18-9226-349DAD5B40B8.jpg

While I was working in PHX one of our major customers was Sturm Ruger. Their pistols are made in Prescott, AZ and we were their primary supplier of CNC machines. When I retired they gifted me one of their commemorative LC9S pistols.
To my left is the local VP and to my right is the Plant Manager. We had a fantastic customer/supplier relationship.
