hey guys, new to the forums and the proud new owner of a 2006 Double Cab off-road. The dash lights behind my climate control clusters are dead / burnt out so I can't see them when i'm driving at night. i'd like to replace them and possibly even go ahead and replace all the instrument panel and dash lights while i'm at it with some red leds if possible. can anyone give me a link or even better... a list.. of all the bulb sizes used in the instrument panel and the dash? i'd really appreciate it. I can't for the life of me find anything on it anywhere I've looked. Thanks!

There is a link on this site somewhere for all gen Tundras. Its a basic list that gets you started but you will find out, as I did, is not a total list. Best bet is open up the panel and take inventory. Put her back together and wait till your order comes in. It takes $ome time, but is well worth it.

You may need to use the auto store(s) as I did as they only stock few LED bulbs. T10’s and T-5’s you order online (not available at auto stores).

I’m wondering if using colored LED bulbs would be an easier color conversion? Yesterday, I removed the green rubbers over my 02’ instrument bulbs. The panel went from light/clear green color to a light orange/peach color with removal. Thinking the OEM original halogens yellow orange are producing this color.

I’m considering using some cool blue LED’s from auto store tomorrow and will report back. I might do a light fade from white to blue (in middle of cluster) back to white. So, white on sides with blue in middle. Yew!

I've got cool white in mine, it ends up being a nice bright white color behind the hvac controls. I'd snap a pic but it's 19° outside right now:eek2:

It is chilly out there! Just took a pic of my panel that was done last week. Used Cool White Syvania LED. No way to change the radio color from green?

Here is the instrument cluster POST removal of green rubbers on main bulbs. In person, this panel looks more orange/peach. This pic makes it look whiter. Removing the rubbers increased the OEM bulb brightness by 40%.

So I had some free time today and removed the console panel around the HVAC controls, I saw large bulbs and small bulbs, all had “toshiba v2” written on the back and one of the large bulbs was missing completely. (Wondering if that’s why none of my HVAC controls are lit up?) haven’t checked fuses yet but that’s still a possibility. Regardless, I atleast need to replace the missing bulb... Took one of the large bulbs to the auto store and the tech there had no idea what size it was...

The bulbs twist out of the panel base, then once removed the bulb pulls out of the bulb base. 194 is your size for big bulbs. The small bulbs are a T-5 in LED.

finally got all my bulbs in, got the hvac controls backlit again, 2 white and 1 red led in the 168 sockets. also decided to go ahead and swap out my map and rear passenger lights for white leds. plan on ordering a de3175 red led to swap out my dome, and door lights to give it a red glow when I open the door. forgot to take pictures this morning but i'm pretty happy with the results.

I changed the lights in my dash guage cluster, my temp controls,my turn signal lights and my ignition ring all to red led bulbs 2 months ago. It's not difficult and really makes the dash look good at night . I bought mine from eBay and have around $20.00 in all the bulbs. It took me about 2 hours to change everything. While I had the guage cluster out , I removed the air bag bulb, seat belt bulb and the cel bulb. Now I don't have any annoying lights on. I removed the cats 12 yrs ago and the cel wouldn't go off.i will try to take a picture tonight and send it so you can judge for yourself.

IMG_20190410_210315463.jpg Cat delete worked out great! Toyota dealership said if I removed them that it would never start again. WRONG!! I have stainless steel shorty racing headers and true dual exhaust going down the passenger side and out the rear side .2 1/2" all the way through. Everyone loves the sound! I have had it that way for over 10 years. No problems! Here are some pics of the led dash lights.IMG_20190410_210253727.jpg IMG_20190410_210309063.jpg

Yeah bud, I'm okay. I've just had a rough go of it lately. I'm trying to get back on the horse, and in my right mind.

I apologize for any dumb questions, or inconveniences.

Thank you for asking professional hand model.

20190412_171044.jpg 20190412_171054.jpg I pulled the bezel off for my HVAC controls, and replaced all bulbs with LED cool white, but I will have to wait until nightfall to see the results. I broke the right hand clip that holds the bezel on, but I think it will be okay without one clip. You have to forgive the awkward camera angles as my rear camera does not focus correctly, so I took these with selfie camera.
(also please excuse my dirty floor mats )

I plan on finishing my instrument cluster this weekend. I replaced 194s with led cool white before I did any research on small bulb sizes. I removed the 74 bulb, but had nothing to replace it with. Now I am going back to finish the job :D

I know they do, hopefully I will be able to replace the bulb bases eventually, as the incandescents have scorched them slightly. Heat, and plastic don't really mix from my experience.

I work with 300°F +- rubber injection molds with plastic inserts. Not fun.
