I think my nav is built into the non-jbl head unit that I will be replacing and because the Pioneer 4200nex doesn't have nav built in, it would be another $300 to add the part from Pioneer.

The 4200 doesn't have a place to plug in GPS, since it doesn't have it. I lost the nav and compass, but I kept the STO2 I bought in case I swap headunits later on. The other screens all still work.

Oh. I meant to keep the nav antenna. Yes if your headunit does not have gps built in you will not need the nav antenna.

Are you keeping XM? If so you should get the ST02. Also you lose the "now playing" from the stereo in the center console if you dont have the ST02. (at least i did until i added it) No big deal but the ST02 is $20 so it does not break the bank to add it

Also no built in sirius/xm tuner on the 4200

I didn't lose "now playing" in the center screen.

Most aftermarket does not have it built in except for the ability to add it. I never did because i dont use XM.

Hum. Strange. In the 2018 JBL I did until i added the St02. I guess if you dont have GPS or XM you dont need it

Might be firmware related depending on the head unit used. I also have an 18 JBL.

    Parts I used:
    Maestro RR
    TO2 main harness
    USB TO2 harness
    Metra antenna adapter (radio antenna)
    Micro bypass (video in motion)

Did you have to buy the USB TO2 separate or does it come in the TO2 main harness?

The maestro itself is the same for every truck/car. Just different flashed firmware. the wiring harness is going to be truck/car specific.

Hey Smoosh, I have the same Headunit in a 17 with the Maestro but I’m not getting any vehicle info. It’s actually greyed out on the Kenwood. Any ideas?

To bring this up from the dead. I just installed a Kenwood 9704s in my 14 crewmax. Used the maestro rr and to2 as well as the usb adapter. My steering wheel controls all work but I don't get any gauges and my tire pressure is reading na. The wiring diagram said I don't need to plug in the ODB2, but I did after it didn't work, and it was still the same. Anyone have this issue? I've reflashed it twice now. Thanks!

Maybe a setting in the headunit. On my pioneer my gauges stopped working once when the OBD2 got unplugged and I had to disable the gauges and re enable them in the HU

Does anyone know if you can retain vehicle settings (DRL settings, auto exit seat options, alarm chirp, light timers, etc.) in a JBL Platinum with an aftermarket head unit?

Ok, can you keep the functions AND get rid of the factory amp?

that I'm not sure of... I'm still running stock everything except the HU and Maestro, I'd think it would be fine, though since the the only output from the headunit/maestro to the amp is RCA and remote

Nice. I will look in the idatalink settings on my Kenwood. Truck wasn’t running when I checked but I don’t think that makes a difference.

TRD rear sway bar, console organizer, stubby antenna, LEDs for cabin, cargo, license plate, and reverse lights, power-fold mirrors, Westin nerf bars, full stereo upgrade. Future - color-match grill surround/bulge, mirror caps, handles, plasti-dip badges.
How many people are running the Maestro on a 2018 Tundra? I just got back from the dealership for a check engine and multiple safety system malfunction issue (code P0705) and they're telling me the Maestro connection to the can bus is what is causing the issue. The codes came back with it disconnected, and they're telling me the Maestro potentially damaged the can bus. They won't warranty it. They're telling me that Toyota is cracking down on anything that connects to the ODB2 port since they're seeing so many issues in newer vehicles. I call bullsh*t.

Mines running fine. Been installed for about 2 months now. Only issue is within that time, my steering wheel functions did not work on startup. After stopping/restarting engine (reboot) it was fine. I think it's happened 2 times in that time span.
