just spoke to accutane. They do not have a fox shock that will fit a 2" lifted tundra. Weird. I'm thinking of cutting my losses and going straight to Fox. It'll take some research it appears.

*AccuTune, and that is accurate. Feel free to look at their website to confirm. This is the shock package we would recommend if the rear didn't need to be as tall. If you want to take some measurements on the current rear shocks you have, we can see if these would work or not. We are about performance and not just selling shocks

Can you shed a little more light on this. Your current setup or a cheap setup for a weekend wrencher. TIA

They come low when shipped from Icon. I have had to have them adjusted when they arrive. You would think out of the box they would be good to go

My Kings were shipped with no N2, but that's for shipping purposes. Trying to ship 14" shocked ready to go would be expensive.

A buddy and I put together almost the identical setup, except bottles. We typically refill with argon as we have a bottle around the shop from one of our welders. More expensive than nitrogen, but saves us having a dedicated bottle.

Are you seeing much loss over 2-3 months? My truck was ran as a commuter for years, then the past 10, it's a garage queen as I have a work truck. SAW's up front and previously Fox's in the back, would lose 10-50 PSI per year. Just curious what you're seeing? I now have the Icon RXT's as mentioned (leaking) above and will be changing out the fill valve from a needle so I can check easier. Ran them fairly hard for the past 6 months without issue, fingers crossed I've got "a good pair"

The most I see is in temperature differences. I mostly check to see if there is a leak I'm not aware of.

I've had a leak on my MTB ~13 years ago when they switched to a different O-ring material for the new model. Took for warranty rebuild w/o asking a question, shipping was paid by them. Otherwise FOX are phenomenal. Bike's frame cracked in two spots after a decade of abuse, but when I had the shocks rebuilt, they were like new inside. FOX stands for its name.

If you wheel frequently I'd say jump on in to rebuilding yourself. Simply rebuilding is not rocket science. The tools are a little expensive, N2 setup being the majority of the cost. Having N2 on hand is priceless though. Had a local shop quote me $60 per shock to recharge.....made me wonder when weed became hallucinogenic. @ColoradoTJ wrote a great thread about rebuilding shocks that helped encourage me to try it.

Also, no one has mentioned the fact that the lower mount on the Icon shock is offset. The shaft is not traveling directly above the mounting point which seems like it would definitely wear seals quickly.

Yeah really happy I went with custom tuning on my Fox 2.5 DSC from accutune. Great shocks and great shop to work with, highly recommend.

I've had Icon Resis in my 4th gen 4runner since 2012...had them rebuilt a couple years ago and tried getting my tears rebuilt, buy it was cheaper to just buy new which made me laugh...they have been solid and amazing! When getting the 4runner fronts rebuilt, yhe shop said one needs to top off the N2 on new shocks as they all come not topped off...I understand that logic but am annoyed to have to "need" that after spending thar money. Regardless, all things good to know.

I JUST purchased some Icon 2.5 vs for my tundra and was going to throw them on but now I'm nervous to have to deal with this warranty crap again...:monocle:

Buy once cry once. I have OME which have been fantastic but if i were to buy a resi shock, Fox hands down. If they're good enough to supply OEM's, especially Toyota OEM standards, then their QC and engineering should be a lot better.

So... it seems that Icon really cares what their google reviews look like. I got an email from them after I left a negative google review. They offered to warranty the shocks. I had already dropped them off at a local guy to rebuild. He hadn't started and was totally cool with my situation. Shout out to Jed at Armorology in Csprings, CO. Anyway, sent them to Icon and had them back in about a week. I'm happy they ended up doing the right thing, but it shouldn't have taken this amount of effort. The phone calls and unanswered emails should have done the trick.

I would not exactly call it ‘stand by their products’ if it had to take a review to bring them to their senses. It has been going on for a long time and hopefully they realize that a happy customer is a customer for life. I have a shit load of Icon stuff all over my truck and looking heavy at King. Wanted to make some changes and cannot get straight answers from them (Icon).

Glad you were taken care of and glad you posted the review. I hate it when folks are taken advantage of and they get away with it. It only fuels the fire

Keep them clean, make sure piston is shiny and happy and I suppose make sure the upper bushings don't have any cracks in them...but mostly, set them and forget them if not remote resi...

Man, I had Icon Stage 9 installed back in 2020. No issues yet. Although there is some slight seapage coming from one of the seams in the rear shocks. Icon said it's within their specs and shouldn't be an issue.

I didn't realize at the time that they would need to be rebuilt. I thought it was a "install it and forget it". Should have done more research.

I'm probably at 35k to 40k miles on them. Mostly paved roads, but some off road.

Has anyone not followed Icons recommended rebuild times (mileage) and not have any issues? Or should I not take a chance and have them rebuilt? Closest authorized shop is 7 hours away in Oregon.

Or I find a local shop and have them send to Icon. Which may cost more.

Do all suspension companies require a rebuild? I.e. Kings or Fox

Yes, pretty much all shocks will need a rebuild/replace at some point as they are wear items.
I would not fret about an “authorized” shop doing the rebuild.
Any off road shop worth anything should be able to rebuild them for you.

One would think but there is a group of the Arizona guys that say when they go to rebuild there have been many that had the internals assembled incorrectly (wrong order, wrong parts, etc.) and it is said that they are not easy. I asked around trying to find out where to learn how to rebuild them and got a lot of nothing for replies, funny

I'll never buy Icon anything; lots of issues and breakages in the GX realm I've seen and enough to steer me clear. I'd rather go Dobinsons or Fox, even OME or Bilstein. I think all the stage 1-387 stuff is hype and marketing BS, but that's just me :)

Probably cause nobody's wants to touch them, which says something too lol. King's on the other hand speak for themselves. Sure they might need rebuilding, but you see that trademark baby blue and you expect a certain level of quality.

I'm happy with my Icons...both in yhe 4rynner since 2013 and my tundra 2.5s are nice and working well, but fox or accutune, or accutuned foxes are the best as far as quality of parts and QC being completed are concerned...
