So it seems I am now in the same boat you were. New Icon 2.5” coilovers installed today by the shop and they will not go higher than 2” of lift—no matter what. I have a double cab with stock bumper. I’ve reached out to Icon. I’m sure they will make it right.

I swear a batch of those had the wrong springs installed. No way those were the tested tundra springs. They tried to tell me the springs are tested on the heaviest version of our truck and got 3.5” at the thread mark. The 700lb spring helped. With those springs though, lift was at 4.25” in front at the 2” thread mark.

They had to have been bad. These aren’t going any higher. I assume they will send me the 700s. Still frustrating...

It’s going interestingly, and I will not say much until it is or is not resolved. Bottom line, though, they want me to increase the preload past the 2” thread point and make up for it with a bumpstop existension.

@Icon_Adrian Adrian why would they not swap out the springs? Something is not right with some of these coilovers. Is going past icons warranty mark and possibly binding the springs be the answer?

Both the technician that installed them and another local 4x4 shop that installs coilovers don’t agree with Icon because their proposed fix does not address the problem: spring rate.

@LT75 I'm so glad to find this post, I was just about to order the 58650's and need to get 3" of lift out of them with a heavy bumper/winch. Just curious, are you running 4.25" of lift, or did you back it down to 3" range? Just want to make sure if i get 4" of lift with the 700lb springs that there are enough threads to bring it back down to 3". So couple questions.. what height are you riding at now, and how much droop do you get measured from fender to center hub at full extension at that height?

What’s Icon’s take on this? I’m about to order these 58650s fully expecting 3” upfront...I’d rather address the surprise now as opposed to later. Bad batch of springs?

It’s not good so far, but they are doing one more engineering review to see if they will be sending me springs. It has passed the point of ridiculous.

Has to be a mistake in springs. I only got 1.75” at the max thread mark with the ones that came with them. I have no extra weight in my front end.

You not evening being close makes me feel better. (Obviously sorry for your loss)

You never hear the good outcome stories on the net, so it does sound like this is a small sample size.

The 700lb springs worked perfectly. They were going to send another set of 600lb springs but I didn’t want to deal with this again. Just in case the springs were labeled wrong at the factory.

So apparently I’ve found this post a week too late. Hopefully they’ve corrected this cause I’ve already paid for my 285/75/18’sF0225C03-FA30-4941-BF5D-7269D12578CD.jpg

Update...Icon has acknowledged a warranty issue, has sent the Eibach springs but is refusing to pay for a local shop to do the swap.

So are they sending out the 600 or 700 pound springs? Looks like I bought mine around the same time as you.

I requested the 700lb because I did not want to chance going through this all over again.

With 700lb springs, you cannot go to the same exposed thread measurement as the 600's. Max exposed threads with 700lb coils is 1". If you are over 1", this will put it into coil bind if you are using the full stroke of the shock.

    I thought the 2.5s came with 13' 650lb springs?

For a Tacoma application, yes. For a Tundra, they are 16" 600's.

ok so I did read that wrong. wow.. so, I just went and measured and im at 2.25 on the driver and 2 on the passenger on my threads. with the aftermarket bumper should I start dabbling into looking at 700lb springs? I am planning on adding a winch just to make that known.

Kudos to Icon. Now a different rep reached out to me and they have offered a number of options.

Would definitely recommend the 700's with the winch.

Not much yet. More to come .....

Good to hear as I am having a stage 8 installed next week. Might have the shop just swap out to 700's before they install.

Icon 3.5/3 lift, 20” KMC XD wheels on 285/65/20’s.
I had them back it down to 3.5”. Haven’t measured the thread depth. Probably around 1.5”
