Well, shit. Another car was stolen this afternoon in our neighborhood. 2 blocks from the house. Around 4pm. 2 cars in the past few days very close to the house. Both were Subaru WRXs.

Yesterday a guy was caught by a neighbor a few doors down. He was checking car doors in their driveway. Cops were called but I’m pretty sure he didn’t get picked up.

At our dealership we just pull the fuses for our fuel pumps...
I'm not much smarter than that but not sure if that'll give you a bit of a solve... :notsure:

I hope your truck stays safe and with you.

ps. Also was too lazy to read all the above posts.

Car thievery is not an issue in my neighborhood. However, back in the 1990’s I was working night shift and realized I needed something from my truck. I went outside where my truck was sitting and some double dousch bag parked right up beside my truck and I mean way to close. I got in the driver door cussing like a sailor someone would pull so close to my prized truck. As soon as I opened the door there was glass all over my front seat. Several expletives later I went inside to call security and the police. I guess several new trucks had already been stolen out of the lot. When I went back outside the car right up beside mine that was to close had pulled away. He had to have left without his headlights or I would have seen him. On hindsight I realized he was probably in my truck and saw me coming and hid until I left. That could have ended badly.

I guess if it was up to me, being a thief, a nice decent area would be hit before a craptastic area.

We’ve lived in worse. It’s far better than where we were in SD.

We’re on the border of some bad neighborhoods with a gentrification push from two sides. We’ve been here 4 years. There’s been a string of break-ins, some shootings, a couple of homicides. Most recent homicide was by a car theif. He shot the owner when he came outside. Neighborhood has a violent history all the way back to the 20s.

I agree with the logic, but unfortunately if pushes come to shove and you use the gun here in CO, even in self defense, I think you're likely gonna wind up being judged by 12. Or at least that's what I've heard from a few firearms instructors.

Wasn't sure if that varied from state or not. We do have Castle Doctrine here, but the understanding I had was that didn't apply if you think your car's being broken into.

here in texas the CD is extended to our vehicles.

But when i had my cane corso i would let him out first then follow. It's not my intent to shoot someone. i would rather my dog tear their asses up....but i won't hesitate to protect myself. my vehicles and everything in it can be replaced...

It doesn't. Stops at your doorstep.

It is also pretty moronic over a 500.00 deductible, especially when you have kids relying on you. Things change once they come into play. I do believe I was given a brain at 34.

I don't go out with the intent to shoot anyone. my dog wouldn't attack unless he thought you were going to hurt me or my family (you would have to be acting aggressively). i carry concealed pretty much every where i go....so me walking outside (which i do at all hours of the day) i would be carrying...yes i carry even at home....and my dog went with me most of the time. the night my expedition was broken into i was actually going out to get crap out of it....cane corso was out first and that's when he went after said dip shits. he will chase you off the property and stand at the edge waiting for an order.

a phone call to 911 is sufficient for me to report what happens and hope it comes out the way i hope...

The fact that you're not covered while on your property while outside if someone used deadly force or was trying to inflict serious bodily harm to you or someone else while on your property is asinine! there should be a law some where protecting you.

Most people I know are carrying at home. The only time I'm not is drinking or groups of people involving drinking.

    That's not the point.

I get it if your going out and are surprised by a thief, shit happens and that is where your Concealed Carry rights start. If you have to draw your weapon, and immediately drop the pin, then you might be all right. Still gonna be broke from the financial strain from your lawyers.

Your post did not indicate that was the case when you let a dog out first, and follow up, gun in hand. That no longer falls under concealed carry. We had a "hero" GI last year in Fountain that choked a car thief out, and ended up on the wrong side of the law.

People do some really messed up things to either get into your house or get you out. Don't make it easier, and there are pro's at this very task. Just ask our fine men in Special Forces.

There is a law that covers me. If I was outside kicking the living shit out of you and causing serious bodily harm, and your neighbor see this, they can act and use reasonable force up to deadly.

Someone breaking into your car then runs away is not causing you bodily harm.

    See the difference?

Naw, that's your booger hook that operates the kill switch. :cookiemonster:

Besides, "immunizations for lead poisoning" are too good for thieves. They should have an appendage amputated for each convicted offence.
