Woke up this morning to my wife telling me about several posts on the local neighborhood forum. Car was stolen 2 blocks from our house. Not sure if it's related to the jack ass douche I saw the other day taking pictures of my truck in the driveway but I'll make the assumption, rightly or wrongly, that it is.

So, I need to some info on wiring up a kill switch. Who's got some? I'll want it for both my truck as well as wifey's car since she sits on the street.

On my 4 runner I ran one from the ignition circuit from the fuse block. Was pretty easy. However if the thief is willing to spend a little time it's fairly easy to bypass.
A buddy of mine put one on his Tahoe and wired the switch into the brake relay to put it in gear. You could start it but couldn't shift without the switch on.

Aren’t our trucks difficult to steal because of the chipped keys? Anyways, on one of my other cars, I had the alarm guy install a Kill switch wired to one of the momentary buttons on the dash. So you have to press the button while you turn the key. Works great and you don’t have to add a switch somewhere.

Well, that was an awesome piece of equipment. If I thought I could get Bec on board, I'd have no problem with building a small arsenal. Have always want to build my own AR.

No idea, my alarm guy did it like 20 years ago. I would think the ignition wire is just wired into the circuit of the switch? Probably really simple for someone who knows electrical. All I know is it works because someone tried to steal that car two separate times and failed. :D

Wow scary to have people jacking up your hood brother. @smslavin I too am interested in having some type of kill switch. I’ll have to check out Chris’ post.

Its off topic but my last car had 5 different tunes that were changed with the steering wheel controls. One of the maps were a kill mode, another was a valet mode where the engine wouldn't go above 3k rpms. It'd be nice Toyota had something similiar.

In the meantime can you pull off an ignition wire. Used to be able to pull the main off the distributor but with today s engine I don't know.

There whose a posting years ago where a wire in the taillight wouldn't let the truck start that might be the easiest way.

You could cut the starter wire and put in a relay. Most common is to wire it to either the brake pedal or hi beams you must activate either in order to start the vehicle. Would only cost a couple of bucks. Just my .02

LOLLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL ok so the video is laughable at best. Rocker switch is called a rocker switch because it mounts into a rocker panel. SPST is Single Pole Single Throw. Drill a hole in a freakin fuse??? WTF oh and lets solder without pulling fuses or a battery cable with a grounded soldering gun. Love the way he went to drill that fuse too, no vise holding in his hand and drilling on paper on the table. Oh, last observation, hes running the fuel lines and injectors dry, last I heard its not a good thing to do on modern engines. Shit homey that video was dope.
