293k on my 1st gen DC. No issues other than normal maintenance items. Was in the market for a new to me truck. Not a fan of active fuel management from GM and the thoughts of having to repair turbos turned me off from ford.

Ended up with a 16 CM limited in silver sky metallic. Super happy with my decision. 1st gen is now a hunting truck and 3rd gen is what I drive when I dont want to drive my little commuter honda. We are toyota people at my house.

    I hear ya!

I work in the commercial construction industry and surrounded by Fords, Chevy’s and Rams. I live in a steel belt state as well.

I owned a Chevy back in my late teens and had horrible problems mechanically along with non helpful dealer support.

My coworkers all come up to me away from all the others and secretly tell me how much they like the Tundras. They usually have a family member who retired from one of the big 3 so they are forever bound to buying where there parents retired from.

The way I look at it is like others have said that My Tundra is made here, proven reliability, competitive prices, top notch customer service!

Plus I’m the one that is making the payments right?!

    Not nearly enough room here!
Every major component on Tundras is made in America. Believe it or not, the Japanese branded Tundra, has their Engineering Staff here in America too:eek2:. When the American 'badged' automakers QUIT pulling stunts like wrapping a Chi-Com built Buick Envision up in "Ole Glory" to impress their ignorant customers, I may consider them as Patriotic as I am.

When all people know is what they ASSume, they'll buy a vehicle because the Name Plate "assures" them it's built in America by Americans. The big 3 count on blind loyalty and ignorant customers. We have family that had to replace the engine in a 3 year old Equinox, they went right out and bought an Impala to replace it...this is what makes GM, Fiat and Ford "moist."

A new engine after three years? Oh I’m sure it was just a lemon.

Coming from a straight sports car guy i felt it was time to jump on the p/u bandwagon. I test drove all the big three and even a titan pro 4x. Out of all the trucks the Tundra just felt so much better. I even held the ttundra for the last test drive. Im glad i chose Toyota.

I chose a Tundra and I love it, but i wouldn’t be afraid to buy a different brand. I wouldn’t buy an ecoboost, and I wouldn’t want extra electronics and crap that will only cause problems down the road, but I think other trucks are fine.

I’ve owned a 1989 Silverado, 1999 F150, 2007 Ford Edge and none spent time in the shop. My father has had multiple Silverados and none have him problems.
