I was wondering why the bailout never comes up when you talk about buying a Challenger.

Because they paid it back. GM paid back most of it, but still owes 6-8 billion. It'll never be paid. That's enough for me to object on principle, but even setting that aside, I cannot get comfortable in their trucks. Had 8 years of them at work and multiple model years, even had one that was all luxed out because it was the company owner's truck, and it sucked too. Just not for me.

‘21 Powerboost XLT. Class leading hp and torque and the on board 7k watt generator ended up being the big draws for me. Got a full battery of extension cords set aside to run my kitchen and living room next time the SHTF and eventually gonna do a transfer switch or else just install this 4 pin to 6 outlet pigtail I recently found through one of my exterior walls.

Averaging 19-21 mpg OR she’s nearly as fast as my Challenger RT was. One or the other, not both at once.

I was a Chevy fan and strongly considered a Silverado 6.2 but ride quality/interior kept me away. They seemed to have fixed some of that but still couldn’t compete with the performance and mpg capabilities of the powerboost.

I'm currently in the "one or the other" stage, and it doesn't work for me. I need a truck. Have to have it for hobbies and just to get out of my driveway in the winters. Trouble is, even as fun as the truck is, it's not the same as driving a fun car. Different experiences that aren't based solely on speed. I love my Tundra and the truck, but I dearly miss my WRX. Thing is, the WRX wasn't bought because it was the car I wanted. I wanted a Challenger, but I convinced myself I needed to do the "responsible" thing and get an AWD 4 door. Still kick myself for that.

Have a 22 250 with the 7.3. Engine is great. 10spd has some issues. unsure if it's just programming, a build defect or simply 'well it's a HD truck so not gonna shift like a grocery getter'. Have seen all of these offered as explanations. And yep, Ford is not great at quality control.

That said the power of the 7.3 is just lovely and while it's not a hot rod it is very addicting. No way i could own a GM 2500. Awful interior, worst front end in history, goofy shaped wheel wells and tiny back seat area. Oh and that awful looking side mirror design. I did one year with the AFM and that was enough to cure me of any engine with cylinder deactivation. No thanks!

So i held my nose and went Ford SD for the same reasons i loved my pre 22 Tundra. Nice power with minimal trickery.

We recently rented a 32' camper for a weekend trip and the 7.3/10spd combo was a joy. The transmission is much better with weight behind it IMO.

You're a tall guy right? That would make sense to me that you don't find the GM and Chevy trucks comfortable. I have the exact same problem with Fords. After an hour or two, my back really starts to bug me. When I owned my F150, I did a bunch of research into it and the consensus on the forums and from a couple of techs I talked to was that Ford seems to design their seats for people who are 6ft+. I'm 5'5". GM seems to design for the more average height person.

Not sure what you mean by “tiny back seat area”. Isn’t smaller than my 2016 Tundra crew max was. I like my GMC AT4 HD front end WAY better than the 2022 Tundra front end. I’m indifferent about the wheel wells, the mirrors look a little goofy but functionally they are excellent.

Get rid of those awful wheels and you're onto something. I always loved that Chevy body style.

Damn good looking truck. Out of my price range too my man. We can all have dreams though. :D

It would either be the GMC or Ram for me in the 2022.

After changing out a CP4 on a V8 diesel, my mind has changed on Rams. :eek2:

That puts Ford out for this guy.

To get us back on topic, these are the only two trucks I'd consider replacing my Tundra with right now.

Prices are in CAD. The F350 has the 6.2. About $2500 more for the 7.3.
