I've been trying to find one for mine for months and it's proving difficult. The ECU I have, 0CP42, must be super rare.

Wow looking around that is a rare one outside of paying 900$ for new which is outrageous. I tried https://www.car-part.com and there seemed to be some possible hits in there. I wonder why that ECU is so unique, you must have an uncommon configuration. Like in my case theyre semi rare as it’s a SR5 doublecab 4x4 without the sr5 upgrade package which is a different ECU number.

Has anyone noticed that after you write a tune with HPT, you get a message that says, When doing another write disconnect the battery before doing the write, something like that. So Everytime I am going to write a new tune, I disconnect the negative cable and go prepping everything that I need, battery charger, disconnecting water pump, etc. It takes about a minute or two to do that, then I reconnect the neg cable and do the write, making sure everything is off and I am on my phone hotspot.

yea, not sure why it's that one. there's nothing unusual about my truck as far as i know. I bought one off car-part that said it was a 0cp42, and when it showed up it was a different p/n. luckily the yard was cool about returning it and gave me a refund

Just like they say to turn off all sources of battery drain or make sure you have good internet connection, I will do what HPT says. It doesn't hurt and take a minute or 2. Anything to avoid a bricked ECU.

For you guys that have swapped ecm's and had to reprogram the immobilizer, when you jumped obd2 pin 4&13, did your dash lights go crazy once you turned the key on?

Alright, another question for the collective. Guy just reached out, he had a tuner place try to flash his 2011 LX570 and they bricked the ECU. They sent the ECU to VFT and they were unable to recover it. He ended up buying a new ECU from some place called Flagship One and they theoretically loaded his VIN into it. But the truck won't crank or start or do anything. I'm sending him the link to the ECU swap thread, but any insights here? He said he was told to do some complicated handshake process of unplugging and replugging the battery and stuff but nothing has happened.

My starter would engage even with the bricked ecu. Is his truck a key or button start? Did it crank with the bricked one?

They will always crank even when the ECU is bricked.
