Man, I did not realize this would be such a sore subject. I just don't like stuff on my truck that doesn't have a purpose or a job. I considered making the scoop a real one, but I really dislike the fact that it's an add-on and not molded into the hood (like the Tacoma TRD Sport, for example). Ultimately I am going to be equipping the truck with a snorkel cold-air intake, so the scoop on the hood is irrelevant and just -- IMHO -- a good way to ruin an otherwise good hood.

Sorry for everyone who felt attacked by most post. I'll try to be more thoughtful or PC next time

Customize your truck the way you like it, that’s the best thing about this forum is being able to learn from what others have tried. I’d trade you in a hot second if it was white and you lived in the PNW. Have a great thanksgiving bud .

    No need to be PC.
    We’re having fun.

Plus, my hood scoop gives me a raging boner.

    Happy thanksgiving!

OP…the weekends come and gone so what did you decide to do?

Did you remove the fake hood scoop?

Take a few pictures of your work. I’d think you’d be able to epoxy the 16 holes, sand smooth, then lay over your decal.

Life’s short so do whatever it is that makes you happy!

That's my ethos as well, every mod has to serve a purpose, gotta make the truck better/faster/more efficient, I think the hood scoop can be function if it was reverse, then add internal louvere to help dissipate heat, seibon also make a nice cf flat hood that saves weight.

I'm with you on the hood scoop. I love the truck, but don't like the look of the scoop, and it hurts visibility. I'm in NJ if anyone wants to swap and has a black metallic hood without a scoop!
