Hello from Los Angeles

Hi I am Melody and just purchased a pre-owned silver 2017 Toyota Tundra SR5 CrewMax. So far I love the truck but there at least three major things I would like to change: rims, remove chrome & add a head-unit(CarPlay). I am new to threads and it's hard to navigate here so please send links to threads you've come across that relate to rims, chrome, and head-units.

Well, you can make all 3 of your problems easy or a headache, entirely up to you and your tastes.
Headunit: try talking to james@tech12volts from the vendor list, and pray your truck didnt have the JBL upgrade. www.Crutchfield.com is a good option too. If domestic brands are too pricey, ask around, there are some good imports to be had at great prices.
Chrome delete: check the vendor list, there used to be a Toyota parts dealer on it that sold painted parts at decent prices. Otherwise, remove replace paint or wrap. Check the 2.5 gen tundra marketplace too:

I’m thinking of getting this headunit for my 2015.
I think it looks great, fits well, and is a really nice price.
There is a thread on here somewhere that talks about it more but I can’t seem to find it.

I looked into that exact head unit on Amazon and was thinking of getting it and doing a DIY but I decided to leave it to the professionals to install an Alpine unit instead.

 

Thank you for this info! I've decided to do a matte black wrap to replace all the chrome and buy matte black rims to match.
