Are they going to paint the entire bed? My 2014 was rear ended and it shook the bumper enough to cause to small dents in the bed. The body shop told me that the entire bed had to be repainted or else you would be able to tell as the truck aged. Don't forget, red is one of the worst aging paints.

I think they are painting the whole driver's side bedside. I'd be more worried about the match to the cab or tailgate than to the other bedside.

The whole side is much better than just the spot that they primed.

I don't know if they are taking color all the way forward. There is about a foot of bedside that wasn't sanded. Do body shops really mask off an area that small? Isn't it easier just to spray it?

I had a small ding on each side of the bed where the bumper had hit. You would not have noticed it unless I pointed it out. I figured that they would fill, sand, and paint to blend. I was surprised when they painted the whole bed. Just make sure that you look closely and feel the panel before taking the truck back.

Maybe the reason that they had painted my whole bed is that they could not blend well, maybe your shop can.

It's possible the dealer fracked it up and had it repaired. The new truck buyer would never know. It's happened before. Not saying it's the case here.

This is the second low-mile original owner truck I have purchased with a clean carfax and an owner that says no accidents. It's also the second that I eventually discovered a previous body repair. I'm pretty sure the dealer was aware on atleast one of the two.

I usually watch for mismatched paint and other obvious signs of repair. I guess I need to be more picky!

Body shop is keeping my truck over the weekend. :( The worst part is that it is just waiting reassembly!

Ended up being a $1,700 repair with an aftermarket bumper. I just noticed they didn't replace that big clear decal in front of the rear wheel. Any idea on what that is called?
