I don't think its over produced, but I find it amazing that they thre clear on primer gray and we all fell in love.

I like that tan color too that I see on Tacoma, in my head its "Manila folder tan".

I agree. That’s what I love about it.
I have a buddy that makes his base coat look like rust and then clears it. Love that too.

Love my black but hate the work. I made the mistake of looking at it on a bright sunny day then spent the next day rewashing, power buffing and ceramic waxing.

I love it and the wife does too. She didn’t like the cement when I showed her and we’ve had several black Toyota’s, so was easy choice to go black. Washed it this morning and it looks awesome.

That’s just because it was a 70 mpg rollover that was fixed. Lol

I often wonder if the last owner has seen what your truck looks like now. Imagine they see it and admire it and wish they still had an 05, little do they know that was their 05. Kind of like that Overhaulin show but without annoying hosts.

When he dropped off the spare keys he got to see it. I think he wanted to cry. Was the first new truck he had ever bought in 05. He’s in his late 70s. He’s just happy to see it’s still kickin better than ever

Anyways. I was led to believe it was some exclusive color by the dealer when I got my 2018 (similar hype to the previous year Pro), only to find out every third tundra sold that year was cement. Still my favorite color though.

It's a great color, and "over-produced" is a moot point.

If the owners are happy, all is well.

    Stock, for now
One of my least desired colors. Looks like polished primer. Its a color originally from Porsche or BMW. Its just not my taste and I see it all over.

Yes it is over produced. Everyone who owns one should sell so I have the only one.

I like it. Not as much as my “green-grey primer with clear coat” but almost as much. I just personally like the colors that don’t have metal flakes in them... just like how I abhor glitter.

Now, my “style” would actually be to run a satin clear coat instead of the gloss. My truck’s gonna get dirty and scratched and get a few scars... just like me. Something about the not-quite-flat finish of a satin clear coat makes me feel better about leaving a few beauty marks...

Nope. I live down the road from Toyota's old corporate L.A. headquarters (so still a lot of Toyota people who didn't make the move to Texas) and about 2 miles from the dealership where I bought my Tundra. I barely see the cement Tundras. I see more black Tundras than anything else. Then white. Cal blue is few and far between but sit in third. Then cement gray, then the lava red.

They only reason you're seeing more cement gray is because you're looking for it.

Funny part is when I bought my white Tundra (the fastest color) with the specs I wanted there was only 3 in the state of California. My dealership had to do a trade with another dealership 30 miles away to get my truck.

As I've said many times here "Black is not a color, it's a lifestyle choice."
