Whatever this forum told me to do
here's my graph with untuned - stock intake vs tuning. I still have stock intake.

there is a big diff. The untuned ECU does wonky things to the motor. @2700rpm's it cuts power and TQ drops.

    tuning make life better.

Quick update: got in contact with the tuner- scheduled for next month. Its tentative ont he pricing but for 2nd gen, its in the ballpark of 750. Talking whether I should get the injectors with this intake, they say it's overkill for what I have at the moment (pulley, and otherwise stock) but will probably go that route. Seems feasible for my skill level and the SC doesn't seem to be in the way too much. Keep yall up to date

They want you to use the stock injectors and tune it with those? Most of us who have been through it would advise upgrading the injectors even if you leave the stock 85mm pulley. Like @snivilous said, he looked at some data logs from another member with the Stage 1 (stock injector) setup and found the injectors were maxed out in duty cycle, and the truck had some knock and was leaning out up top. I have the 650cc injectors on the 80mm pulley and it’s running well and the injector duty cycle maxes around 86%. The ideal duty cycle is to not exceed 80%. I’d advise grabbing a set even if you stick with the stock 85mm pulley regardless of what they say.

Yeah, sorry I wasn't clearer- I'll be likely going the route of injectors so if I do want more later on (we all know that'll likely be the case) precisely because what you're describing.

Here was my post looking at datalogs of a 100% stock Harrop: https://www.tundras.com/threads/general-supercharger-thread.85513/page-183#post-3072233

Definitely go with injectors, even if you never upgrade it. Stock injectors can't handle the stock supercharger.

Your old lady will be happier about you spending $600 on injectors now instead of $7,000 on a new short block later.

actually scratch that, 7k will get you a used one…

Sounds insane since my stock injectors are at 100% duty cycle with just the 85mm Harrop pulley. I know other have just said the same but this bears repeating.

@Frogger0430 I just looked over a datalog from @ZPhilip, who to reiterate has a 85mm pulley (stock stage 1 Harrop) and with the stock (372cc) injectors he was completely maxing out the injector by 5200rpm. He recently installed some 650cc injectors and at 6000rpm is now at 75% duty cycle on the injectors. Based on that, I would recommend getting 650cc injectors since ~80% duty cycle is the ideal limit for the injectors. And if you plan on changing the pulley or modifying things, you might be better off going even larger than 650cc since they don't have a lot of head room even with the 85mm pulley. Food for thought.

I'm thinking about taking my truck to National Speed to have the Stage 2 Harrop installed and tuned. I'm on the fence about the headers.
I currently have a S&B intake & BAM 10" Cat Back exhaust. I was thinking about a stage 3 but the S&B and Exhaust would be replaced, and I hate wasting the money. The noise level is about perfect in the cab now. Should I just bite the bullet and get the stage 3 or stick with stage 2 and skip the headers? The primary reason I have the Tundra is to tow my Jeep to different events and would like torque to go up the mountains in TN and WV.

Headers will definitely make it louder and the cost to gain to is really steep.

That's what I was thinking. I road raced motorcycles for a few years and we would do everything we could to gain power and lose weight.
My brain hates to leave power on the table. I think the Harrop and a 46 Gallon fuel tank from transfer flow will be the last BIG mods I do to the truck.

....I shouldn't lie to myself like that.

I have a the basic stage 2 Harrop with no headers, just trd duals. It already has an obscene amount of towing power on the hills, it’s almost silly. I tow a 7500lb loaded TT, 32’. 2800rpm at 60mph in S4 and it will pull just about any hill like that without downshifting. I don’t think it’s worth the cost and hassle for more towing power if that’s your goal. I’d only do it if you’re trying to squeak the most power out possible, just because you want it lol.

If you are on the fence about headers you can opt out. I skipped the headers but got everything else and it got me to 500WHP / 520TQ. Plenty for towing and hauling and still on a very safe and conservative tune. Dyno was pretty flat too.

The LTHs will be louder if you are happy with your current sound volume. I'll be able to tell you how much louder in the coming weeks. There seem to be other benefits to LTH but not enough have them on to talk to a trend; mainly lower restriction so lower PSI to make the same HP.

You can keep your DD catback, LTH is not replacing your exhaust unless you opting in to the whole Stainlessworks system, their kit is just the headers and cats.

The CAI will likely need to go for a larger diameter intake; stock seems to be a restriction at ~475WHP without 4.5inch. Not a fan of the PS intake that comes with the kit. The main issue is sealing up better to reduce eliminate engine bay heat getting pulled in to the intake.

and for all the Jarheads in this thread... This pic was taken on my last deployment on a West Africa Training Cruise (WATC) We were on our way back to the ship when one of our AAV's got stuck in the mud flats off the coast of the Gambia. We had to make a long trek over land to get back to the boat once we got them out. Shortly after this pic was taken we got stuck doing gator squares off the coast of Liberia and evacuating refugees during Operation Sharp Edge. (I'm in the turret)
